Drowning

Large parts of the country are drowning from floods. The provinces of Bulacan and Pampanga have been flooded for a month already. Actually, it has been raining for a month even in our province. Water has been rising for a month, and now our entire village—and even large parts of the town—is flooded. All we hope is for the rain to stop, though our hardships are not over because of the persistent rains. All we can do is pray. 🙏

Sunday

The rain was very heavy overnight. I expected the flood to have gotten deeper, but so far, it was just around five inches deep. I did some errands downstairs and eventually prepared our food upstairs. Too bad that in less than an hour, the water had risen so high that my boots could not handle it anymore. It had gone knee-deep.

Reminisce

During the rainy season, I have time to check the photos on my phone. All I can do is reminisce. It is the beauty of Buguias that leaves me in awe.
