My witness campaign strategy: Delegating to @ecency
By delegating to @ecency I get 100 Ecency points a day, plus their curation rewards. As a witness I see huge value on those points because on the app I can use them to promote my posts!
More visibility can mean increase in the possibility to get more votes and grow as a witness. So I am investing those points to promote the posts with my witness campaign snippet.
The curation rewards are cool too, and seem to be an above 10% yearly yield, but as a witness the promotion is what I am looking forward!
Hope this strategy works and I eventually make it to the top 50, it may take a long time, but since I prepaid my server to host my witness node for the next 1 year, I have patience.

Great stuff @igormuba. The top witnesses could use a shake up. I've used Ecency points a bit, to boost my own posts and other people's too. Sometimes when I boost other people's content, nothing happens and I get refunded the points a few days later. It's strange. Either there's some unwritten rules about what can or can't be boosted, or somebody is deciding that certain posts don't deserve it
There my points, can't see why someone else is deciding what they can be used for
Maybe @ecency can give some insight on what's happening here?
Boosts are reviewed by our curators and takes upto 24 hours, if not reviewed refund is issued. If curators vote for content then it is approval and boost happens. It is not guaranteed nor it is automated, all manual and human curated/reviewed.
Thanks for the reply. I understood it was not automated. Is there somewhere I can see a full list of points transfers for my account? I can only see up to the last 4 hours in the Ecency app wallet. I ask because I've tried to boost another person's post twice. First time got refunded, second time... I'm not sure. The boost didn't work, but I would like to confirm the points were returned

I have started using @ecency a lot more lately from my phone and I use it from the desktop for my @itsmrhino account so I can keep it separated from this one more easily.
Still exploring all that Ecency offers, but just the mobile app is a plus. I wish other apps on Hive could follow their example with an easy to use mobile app.

Yes, getting 200 points daily, has helped me a lot. Plus they redistribute their curation rewards so it is profitable.
I wouldn’t delegate just for profit, but since @ecency is the main interface I use for Hive I think it makes sense I trust them to curate content for the platform.
Although I have seen them boosting and voting some posts with ridiculous conspiracy theories and even pyramid schemes. I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and assume it is some automation tool that did that, but I might retract my delegation and call them out in a post if I see them keep this behavior.
They need to realize they are held accountable for the content they support.
All boosted posts are humanly validated by the Ecency team :)
Conspiracy is fair game since its under freedom of speech though and pyramid schemes can be hard to see.
If you find anything just report it to them via discord.
I use Ecency aswell and have delegated to them.
