Fruitful Hoursss at Hometown Hainan Coffee

A family who eats, works, feels bored and plays together, stays and loves together. โค๏ธ~@iamjadeline

๐Ÿ˜

I was feeling happy we got to spend time for such a long hours together; from walking around, to sitting down for drink, then lunch, then teatime. It was so refreshing and precious time together. Thanks to hubby for the idea. All this happened at a mall called Berjaya Times Square, specially at a shop called Hometown Hainan Coffee.

It all started when my husband woke up suggesting us to beat they norm and to get out of the house to somewhere else. The boys ๐Ÿ’ฏ agreed. He even asked me to pack my laptop so that he could show or teach me some stuffs. So, I big ๐Ÿ’ฏ. No wonder he loved to work here, just look at the ambience; different layout for different purpose, you choose ground floor or upper floor, or you can even choose the outside natural air section.

Our starter

We already had our breakfast at home, so we ordered one cup of Hainan coffee, one cup of tea and one cup of chocolate drink. Coffee and tea for me and my husband, chocolate for them.

It was too early for me to be in working mode, so I played around with different angle photography.

The man and the boys had started on their gadgets. I was happy looking around, lol. That's how I liked to pass my time. Between window-shopping or people-viewing, I prefer people-viewing. ๐Ÿ˜

Lunch

Time passed very fast. It was our lunch time, the moment I was waiting for. I ordered their recommended Hainanese Chicken Rice. It was so delicious. The chicken meat was fresh, succulent, soft and juicy. The soy sauce on the base was nicely done, not sure what brand they used, but with a dash of sesame oil. The rice was fragrant, I guess was using the chicken gravy leftover from cooking the chicken. And the chilli was flavourful, plus the super fragrant ginger paste, paired so well with every bite. To add in to my joy of every bite, it came with a bowl of yummy cabbage soup. I could tell it wasn't using the chicken powder or really use the stock from boiling/steaming the chicken. I would definitely eat this again at my next visit.

Husband ordered 'nasi lemak' chicken 'rendang.' Super delicious too.

Delicious food, I rate 9.5/10

The boys love pasta so they ordered chicken carbonara. They commented very very yummy too although I did hope the chicken was meant to be real chicken meat instead of chicken ham.

Relax, play, talk and work.

Then, it was a about passing time. Previously, the boys were playing games. Now, they watched some videos while my husband taught me some stuff about crypto. Hours passed fast, then I swapped place with my eldest where he played some games on my laptop, and I did some study time with the youngest son. Then, time passed again, they moved on to art. I will let the photos below do the talking.

Then, I moved on to looking around and caught myself admiring the art on the wall beside us. Either that, I was bored. Lol...

Teatime aka dessert time

5 hours had passed, I had to do something. I ordered a plain water with lemon so that I could sip something else as my coffee had all disappeared to my stomach.

Then, thank God, le husband seemed to be out from him working zone and able to ask, "Want some dessert?" "Of course!" I flipped the menu and was interested in those crepes.

  • Homemade Hainanese Kaya Mille Crepe
  • Homemade Gula Melaka Mille Crepe

Homemade Gula Melaka Mille Crepe

I love this one because I love 'gula melaka', one type of palm sugar in our country, taken from palm tree.

Luckily the man and the boys loved the kaya version, so I ate mostly the gula melaka one.

6 hours passed and I was missing home. Yes, I was a homey person, I miss the sofa, the bed, the home. Husband got my signal and called for bill. We left the place satisfied.

Before we left the mall, we walked around a little bit, bought some buns and fruit juice. I went home feeling abit tired and we all had instant ramen for dinner. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Thank you for reading. Stay bubbly. Stay hopeful.
