HOW DO YOU THINK YOU CAN HANDLE SUCH THINGS?
The digital world has become a home for so many things which has both positive and negative impacts on those that has access to them. I was really very happy when I was given my first android phone about six years ago. Before then I was using a GSM phone but I had access to the internet because my aunt had a browsing phone then, not android. And since it was my first time using an android phone, I was exposed to some apps that have so many unnecessary ads and pop ups.
In these ads, some had really captivating headlines (news) which made me rush in to see what they have to say but surprisingly it was most times a click bait and I fell for it for a very long time 🤣🤣 because I always wanted to know about some certain things. When I discovered the tricks they were playing just so they could get my audience, I started ignoring them because they were all fake news just so they can get audience and most times mislead people.
Spreading fake news is one of the easiest things but also the hardest, if you are around people that like getting the full details of things, hehe, only some can understand this 🙂. It's very easy for anyone to fall victim of fake news and unfortunately for me I've been a victim many times but I was only able to find out it was fake when I go in details. Getting these false news quite often were part of the reasons why I became fond of reading.
HOW I KNOW FAKE NEWS
Whenever we see something that seems too good to be real or too bad to be real, the best approach to getting to the root of the news is by going into details. For me, I fall victim of fake news that are written so it was easy for me to know the truth because I just had to read the whole article so I can know whether or not the news is true or false.
I know I'm not the only one who might have had similar issues and I want to encourage us to always read to understand things better before spreading any word. Don't say things that you are not sure of and always learn to listen more than talk, in that way, you will be able to learn more from others and know some facts about certain things.
Following these things that I have said, I have been able to save myself from fake news for some time now and I know it can also work for you if you follow the rules of learning and listening.
MORE TIPS TO AVOID FAKE NEWS
Some years ago, I was also taught about how to know a fake news, especially if it's from someone that we know physically, nor digitally now, well let's find out how...
Always be at alert my beloved readers because fake news is everywhere and even with you. Before saying anything, we should always try to know how true it is first. Yes people will be unhappy with you for not listening to their news but it will be more harder it we are to work with fake news.
I will end it here because I believe a word is enough for the wise. But I hope to share with you, some dangers of listening and being a carrier of fake news. Remember not to leave without sharing a little of your experience with fake news, I'd really appreciate that.

I love the tactics you use in curtailing this issues called fake news. Indeed social media has helped spread fake news alot especially those news bloggers attracting audience while monetizing it to the detriment of the audience

You're right dear, social media has become the fastest medium of sharing fake news. And we can only curtail it through verification. Rather than easily believing everything we see and hear on the media, we should first confirm the facts and source.

A notable and verifiable source is indeed necessary when we wanna spread news. Even in the academic world, you cannot just go to Wikipedia and copy information to submit for your thesis. Wiki is not an academic resource center.. so you must use verifiable sources..

This write-up though is very practical and useful.
Fake news is everywhere, for example; there's this ASUU twitter account that keeps giving updates about the strike and the headlines are always enticing. I'll always click on it to see if the strike is over but it never is.
They just use clickbait. I've muted them all at this point.
It's not easy to sift through all the fake news flying around these days.
Some even look very real and are still fake. Even though you get to the source.

I have to wonder why anyone would want to write fake news in the first place, but, I guess you are probably right about it being clickbait. Still, it makes the mind boggle.
