Teaching little Children about God - Part 16

Previously we learned about Jesus, his birth, growing up, and at age 33 started His ministry (his work here on earth).

Jesus teaches everywhere, also in the Temple. He healed people everywhere also on the Sabbath Day. The Jewish leaders, called the Pharisees, did not like that Jesus did this.
They were jealous of Jesus, that the people liked and follow him more and more. They were making plans to kill Jesus. Let's read about this in the Bible.

The Pharisees, plotted how they can kill Jesus.

Then the Pharisees went out from the meeting place. They began to talk to each other about how they could kill Jesus. Jesus knew that the Pharisees wanted to kill him. So he went away from that place. A large crowd of people followed him. He made all the sick people become well again.

One day Jesus was teaching His disciples. He asked them when people talk about me, who do the people say I am?
The disciples replied: Some say that you are John the Baptist, other Jeremiah and other the prophet, Elijah
Then Jesus asked them, but who do you say I am?

Let's read directly from the Bible what did they say.
Simon Peter answered him. ‘You are the Messiah. You are the Son of God, the God who lives for ever.’ Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon, son of Jonah, God has blessed you! No person on earth taught you that. God, my Father in heaven, has shown you this.

So here we saw that Simon Peter, one of the disciples, received a revelation from God, the Father, that Jesus is no ordinary person, not even a prophet, but the Son of God.

Then Jesus start to tell His disciples about His coming death.

After this, Jesus began to explain everything to his disciples. He told them, ‘I must go to Jerusalem. There, people will cause me to have great pain. The important Jews, the leaders of the priests, and the teachers of God's Law will hurt me. Then people will kill me. But three days later, God will cause me to become alive again.’

The disciples did not really understand this and Peter said to Jesus that His Father in heaven will not let that happen. Jesus said to Peter his thoughts don't come from God, and he thinks like men.

When God send his son Jesus to earth as a baby, it was all part of His plan. Jesus had to die to fulfill God's plan to save His children on earth.
