Home Education Curation Collection, 3rd July 2022
We're already half way through another year. In 2 months the HomeEdders community will be 3 years old. My, how we've grown! Who thinks we need to do a challenge to celebrate? Suggestions on topics are welcome in the comments.
First our usual thank you everyone who makes this community what it is. This week 5% beneficiaries for interaction and contribution to the HomeEdders community go to:
• @virgilio07
• @leomarylm
• @afterglow
• @romeskie
This week @mildredwg brought us a fun visually stimulating activity that I just know I would have been full of wonder to see as a child. Who am I kidding, I'd love to give it a go even now! This gorgeous, just add water, activity covers science and art straight away, but can also incorporate some literacy and maths if you wish.
Thank you @buckaroobaby for sharing her experience of the JeugMark - Youth Market with us. This is a market where mainly homeschooled, but also some school children, can sell their produce. It really is eye opening to see what children who are encouraged in their creativity can accomplish.
"We're going on a toucan hunt..." Gosh, this week there has been so much fun learning happening! @cirangela and her daughter looked into the endangered toucan of the Amazon rainforest and created a wonderful visual jungle experience. They learnt all about toucans and it looks like they had great fun painting and crafting this bird in its habitat.
The fun doesn't stop there, @melbourneswest and family have been learning about Australia's cultural heritage for NAIDOC week. It was a day of hands on history, through games, stories and art; just the best ways to learn, in my opinion. History can be a bit sad at times, but it serves to remind us not to repeat mistakes and to remember and pass on the good so that it isn't lost.
After all the exciting exploring and outings, I'll wrap up with a calmer activity from @virgilio07 to help with long addition and carrying. I like how visual this is and just know that I'd have enjoyed this activity more if I could have done it in a similar way when learning myself.
Thank you for joining us. This curation was brought to you by @minismallholding and this week I have added @freemotherearth as 10% beneficiary for the ongoing delegation support. Thank you!
