My Quest for Balance in a Screen-Saturated World

In this era where screens are as ubiquitous as the air we breathe, my journey through the digital realm has been nothing short of a roller coaster. Every day, my work tethers me to the glow of monitors and the soft luminescence of smartphone screens, creating a rhythm that's hard to break away from.

There was this one time, a moment that stands out amidst the blur of scrolling and clicking. I found myself lost in the endless stream of social media, where a single 30-second prank video spiraled into an hour of mindless watching. That's when it hit me – the realization that my screen time wasn't just about work; it had morphed into something far more consuming.

Despite the pull of my digital responsibilities, I haven't ventured into the world of screen time monitoring apps. It feels like a band-aid solution when my livelihood is chained to these pixels. However, it's not all doom and gloom. I've discovered a little ally in my battle against the screen – a pair of ionspec glasses. These glasses have been my fortress, shielding my eyes from the relentless siege of screen glare. On the days I forget them, the difference is night and day, and my eyes bear the brunt of my oversight.

Now, you might wonder, "How does this digital marathon affect the mind and the world beyond the screen?" That's a tale still being written. But what's clear is the necessity for boundaries, for a line in the sand between the digital onslaught and the sanctity of our minds and bodies.

I'm still navigating this balance, trying to find harmony between professional obligations and the need for digital detox. My journey hasn't led me to a magical solution yet, but it's a path I'm committed to exploring.

To those wandering in the same digital wilderness, remember, we're in this together. It's about finding those small oases of peace, whether through protective gear like my ionspec glasses or by delving into hobbies that reconnect us with the tangible, tactile world around us.

And to the broader circle – our families, our friends – let's open this dialogue, share our struggles and triumphs, and support each other in this journey. After all, it's in our shared experiences that we find the strength to redraw the boundaries of our digital lives.

As for the long-term? My eyes are set on a horizon where my digital habits align with a lifestyle that prioritizes well-being, where screen time is a tool, not a tether. The road there is uncharted, but with each step, each lesson learned in the depths of digital excess, I'm carving a path towards that balance.

This journey is ongoing, a narrative that each of us is writing in our own unique script. And as we share, learn, and grow, let's redefine what it means to live in a world where screens illuminate but don't overshadow our lives.

I discovered Hive back in 2017 when I was doing my research. My goal on Hive is I want to use the stake power up to be able to help the community. I prayed to God to help me to be able to become a cheerful giver to anyone who is lacking like food, medicine, and livelihood. Hope you can follow my journey

I caught myself spending too much time on Tiktok, wasting data and time just to laugh and I beat myself up to get back to engagement instead on Hive 😂

It's almost like we're unconsciously spending more time on our screen than we really want to.

Indeed, we're in this together 🥲 I hope we find time to use our time well in creating a balance.

When I read this, I realize you are right, we really need to find a connection with tangible things aside our gadgets and those glasses will really help secure our eyes as we stare on our screens.

My digital habit cannot be controlled too, I used to like anti-radiation glasses but there are studies that it doesn't really help (it even makes your eyesight bad and can affect negatively) so I stopped using it.

Your writing of losing yourself in the endless stream of social media, only to realize the consuming nature of screen time, resonates deeply with many of us who have experienced same.

Keep forging ahead on your journey towards balance. Let's strive together for a healthier and balanced relationship with technology.

I am concerned about the time i spend in front of a screen too. Especially the time I look at my phone it's something like 25% of my day.

I also actually really need to start working on the amount of time I spent on my screen daily. It is getting too much and kind of affecting my eye
