Shifter repair || Reparacion de shifter (ENG/ESP)

What's up hive friends today I bring you a little complex work I did which is the repair and maintenance of a shifter, microshift 7v which was disarmed by a bad manipulation, so let's start.

Que tal amigos de hive el dia de hoy les traigo un trabajo un poco complejo que realice el cual es la reparación y mantenimiento de un shifter, microshift de 7v el cual se desarmo por una mala manipulacion!, asi que comenzemos.

Upon arrival I noticed that the gear selector was completely disassembled very dirty and stuck this is clearly caused by lack of maintenance, as any part with moving objects in this case very small require maintenance to prevent the accumulation of dirt and obstruct the movement of the mechanism, usually this mechanism does not fail but there comes a time when the misuse becomes evident and happens what you see in the following photos

Al llegar note que el selector de cambios estaba completamente desarmado muy sucio y trabado esto es netamente ocasionado por falta de mantenimiento, com toda pieza con objetos móviles en este caso muy pequeños requieren un mantenimiento para evitar que se acumule el sucio y obstruya el movimiento del mecanismo, usualmente este mecanismo no falla pero llega un momento en el que el mal uso se hace evidente y pasa lo que verán en las siguientes fotos

After arriving home and completely disassemble the selector I realized that it was in this terrible state, a complete disaster everywhere you look, being useless to operate, I could not upshift or downshift, what I did was the following disassemble the shifter and take it to my house to work more comfortable in it, I had never done anything like this before, it was my first time, I had doubts at first but somehow I had to learn and as I know I could not repair it if I did not get down to work!

Luego de llegar a mi casa y desarmar por completo el selector me di cuenta que estaba en este pésimo estado, un completo desastre por donde se mire, quedando inútil de accionar , no podía subir ni bajar cambios, lo que hice fue lo siguiente desmontar el shifter y llevarlo a mi casa para poder trabajar más cómodo en el, nunca antes habia hecho algo asi, es mi primera vez, tenía dudas al principio pero de alguna manera tenía que aprender y como se que no podía repararlo si no me ponía manos a la obra!

Once at home I disassembled the whole gear selector, I took it to pieces, obviously helping me with the pictures to know how the 3 springs it uses, once I took it apart I realized that it is not a very complex system and that if we use common sense we can do it without any problem.

Una vez en mi casa desarme todo el selector de cambios, lo hice pedacitos, obviamente ayudándome de las fotografías para saber cómo iban los 3 resortes que este usa, una vez despiezado me di cuenta que no es un sistema muy complejo y que si usamos el sentido común podemos hacerlo sin mayor problema.

After cleaning all the moving parts I started with the assembly, where the most complex part was undoubtedly to place each spring with the correct pressure and position, it is true that it has its respective locks but we have to tighten them so that the mechanism operates as expected.

Luego de limpiar todas las partes móviles comencé con el armado el cual donde lo mas complejo fue sin lugar a dudas ir colocando cada resorte con la presión y la posición correcta, es cierto que cuenta con sus respectivas trabas pero tenemos que tensarlos para que el mecanismo accione como se espera.

In order to bring the tensioned spring into position, use a small screwdriver and a technique which consists of anchoring the spring to the tip of the screwdriver and placing it in the wedge where the spring will rest, and then sliding the spring into its wedge, this makes the job easier.

Here it is necessary to remember how we disassemble everything, to bring everything back to its place and remember to grease the moving parts to give a greater smoothness and reduce the wear by friction.

Para poder llevar el resorte tensionado a su posición, utilice un pequeño destornillador y ayudado de una técnica la cual consiste en anclar el resorte a la punta del destornillador y ubicarlo en la cuña donde reposara el resorte, y deslizar luego este hasta su cuña, esto hace el trabajo más fácil.

Acá es necesario recordar como desarmamos todo, para volver a llevar todo a su sitio y recordar engrasar las partes móviles para dar una mayor suavidad y reducir el desgaste por fricción

Retenes pequeños que si o si tenemos que colocar para mantener el conjunto de piezas armadas, todo es mecánico y requiere de una buena presión y ajuste en sus componentes móviles ya que volver a dejar algo suelto por allí traería problemas incluso más grandes de nuevo a esta pieza

Patience is a key point to be able to do this work that in this model of selector is not very complex but requires a lot of common sense and a correct adjustment and lubrication for its good and smooth operation, accompanied by small tests around the mechanism to rule out any problems.

La paciencia es un punto clave para poder hacer este trabajo que en este modelo de selector no es muy complejo pero requiere de mucho sentido común y un ajuste y lubricación correcto para su buen y suave funcionamiento, acompañado de pruebas pequeñas en torno al mecanismo para ir descartando cualquier problema.

We reached the final stage, after verifying the entire mechanism and see that everything works as it should, that each drop enters and returns without any type of lock we can close the mechanism and give way to the final part, the reassembly of the shifter.

Llegamos a la etapa final, luego de verificar todo el mecanismo y ver que todo funciona como debe, que cada caída entra y se devuelve sin ningún tipo de traba podemos cerrar el mecanismo y dar paso la parte final, el ensamblar nuevamente el shifter.

A work of precision where you must be testing that everything goes smoothly, that each grease fits well to your work site, to ensure its perfect operation, now well tested and tested is ready to be reinstalled on the bike where I hope this work for a good time again without any problems.

Un trabajo de precisión donde se debe ir probando que todo vaya sobre ruedas, que cada engrase acople bien a su sitio de trabajo, para poder garantizar su perfecto funcionamiento, ahora bien ya probado y testeado está listo para volver a ser instalado en la bicicleta donde espero que este funcione por un buen rato nuevamente sin ningún problema.

Now if after testing the shifter now we can say that the work was completed satisfactorily the mechanism works smoothly and easily, remember that this system emulates a sequential gearbox because with each click this up or down a gear in the most comfortable and intuitive way.

Ahora si luego de testear el shifter ahora sí podemos decir que el trabajo concluyó satisfactoriamente el mecanismo funciona sin problemas no se traba sube y baja los cambios con suavidad y facilidad, recordemos que este sistema emula una caja de cambios secuencial ya que con cada click este sube o baja un cambio de la manera más cómoda e intuitiva.
