Newbies task2: My response to Newbies Task2

Hello hivers it's @harvodey and welcome to my blog. Writing this post in response to newbies intiative task2.So far we have been taught a lot since the beginning of the newbies initiative and I want to say a big thank you to @starstrings01 and all other hivers who has made this possible.Kudos to you all👍.

In the last class which was held on discord Sunday 8th October 2023, the class was introduced by @startstrings and he welcomed our speaker for the day @nkemakonam89 , who explained extensively the Do's and Don't 's of Hive
She was able to break down terms like [markdowns] [plagiarism] [vote begging] and the likes, which I will be explaining in the paragraphs below. I also learnt about using markdowns which I practiced in this post.

Differences between a centralized and decentralized platform.

A centralized platform is a social media platform according to Nneka that is controlled by a person or body order than the real owner in which you don't have full access to your money or the money in your account, examples are commercial banks, Whatsapp, twitter etc.

A decentralized platform is one in which you have full access and control of your account and Money or any other value places on it, example is hive learners, in which you can decide on when to withdraw your money and what to use it for, like if you choose to reinvest when the market value is high and so on.

Plagiarism in my understanding is a situation whereby you steal someone else's work or write up. In the case of hive it is absolutely prohibited to engage in such an act, it's important that all your contents on hive learners are completely original, and if for any reason you need to ship in a little bit of another person's work it has to be referenced for proper documentation.
Vote begging is also not allowed as readers are entitled to their own opinion concerning your post so it is wrong to go into people's dm and plead for vote or curating of post, you may get tempted to beg for votes if you have none but have it in mind that when you keep on posting one day you will get lucky.

And you recycle a post by reposting a work that has already been posted. In this case when caught a person's account could be restricted or you loose value for that particular write up.

USING THE RIGHT TAGS IN A POST

This is very vital when making a post because it helps other people have access to your post, for instance you're writing about food, your tag shouldn't be talking about money but food* in other to give readers access to your post when searching for a related post.

Four General Tags

  • Proofofbrain
  • Neoxian
  • Pimp
  • Vyb

Unfortunately, this week I did my best in searching for a partner but nobody seems to be available, I concluded that they all have a partner or maybe they choose not to partner with me for reasons I can't figure out. Eventually, just this evening @beeee was in my dm, that was when I realized I was not the only one in need of a partner, she became my partner for this week.
Beeee's original name is Hope, she is from Rivers state Nigeria, we gotta to talk about our Sunday class and she talked about markdowns styles and how not to misuse tags using tags not related to the post at all, while I talked about plagiarism and vote begging.

She @beeee happens to be a very jovial person and it was fun partnering with her. We did a little introduction of ourselves before diving into our main discussion for this week which I summarized above.

Before now, I've learnt from my coach on hive that repeating a post or stealing other people's post is absolutely prohibited on hive, but the lecture on Sunday helped me understand more of the implications and also the names of different fraudulent act* in my word, on hive.

Just looking at a platform where you can write and show case you writing abilities, it's easy for people to assume that you can search for a related topic online and use it just for the purpose of posting or for making money, but I think hive is a very challenging platform whereby you have to think and write original post all the time.

I'm sure if this was not a paid site, a lot of people might be discouraged because you have to work hard to make progress on hive, and the verification of your post also takes time as they have to monitor your account for over a period of time and until they are satisfied with your write ups and how long you have been consistent you won't get verified.
Therefore, this platform is no jokes as you have to take note of the markdowns.

Thanks for reading through, stay tuned for my next post💕.
