[ENG/ESP] Weekend in Bergeggi charming village on the Italian Ligurian coast, between beaches and protected islands. / Fin de semana en Bergeggi encantadora aldea de la costa ligure italiana, entre playas e islas protegidas.

Bergeggi, suspended between the mountains and the sea, at an altitude of 1100 metres above sea level, is located in this last Riviera, about 10 km from Savona, the provincial capital, and 60 km from Genoa, the regional capital. It is a typical Mediterranean village, with a notable tourist flow in summer and a small permanent population during the rest of the year. Bergeggi has been awarded on more than one occasion with the Blue Flag by the Italian Committee for the Defence of the Environment (Legambiente), which rewards the cleanest beaches in Italy and those that promote the most environmental measures, and it is part of the Regional Natural Reserve of Ponente Ligure.

Bergeggi, suspendida entre las montañas y el mar, a unos 1100 mts de altitud sobre el nivel del mar, se encuentra ubicada en esta última Riviera, a unos 10 kms de Savona, la capital provincial, y a 60 kms de Génova, la capital regional, es una aldea típica mediterránea, con un notable flujo turístico en verano y una reducida población permanente durante los restantes del año. Bergeggi ha sido galardonado en más de una oportunidad con la Bandera Azul que el Comité de Defensa del Medio Ambiente italiano (Legambiente) que premia a las playas más limpias de Italia y que más medidas promueven en defensa del medio ambiente, y forma parte de la Reserva Natural Regional de Ponente Ligure.

The beach of Luna is one of the most beautiful places, even if it is a private beach (unfortunately this is a phenomenon that is becoming more and more common on the Italian coast). The beaches are concessioned for several years allowing the local municipalities to recover money on the one hand and to avoid the cost of continuous maintenance which, in this case, is charged to the concessionaires. It is a beach of soft golden sand caressed by the waves of a turquoise sea with blue tones. From this beach you can rent pedal boats and diving equipment to visit the beautiful Grotta Marina or get useful information to reach the island of Bergeggi.

La Playa de Luna es uno de los lugares más hermosos, aunque es una playa privada (desgraciademente es un fenómeno ue está tomando cada vez más cuerpo en el litoral marítimo italiano. Las playas con concesionadas a varios años permitiendo a los municipios locales de recuperar dinero por un lado y evitarse el costo de una continua mantención que, en este caso, es a cargo de los concesionarios. Es una playa de suave arena dorada acariciada por las olas de un mar turquesa con tonalidades azules. ; desde esta playa se pueden alquilar barcas a pedales y equipos de buceo para visitar la hermosa Grotta Marina u obtener información útil para llegar a la isla de Bergeggi.

Diving enthusiasts also find in Bergeggi an ideal place for diving as the village is an impressive limestone complex up to 53 metres high (hence its height above sea level) and divers can observe the seabed rich in flora and fauna thanks to the clarity of the sea water, descending to a depth of 35 metres where stalactites and stalagmites can be seen underwater.

También los amantes del buceo encuentran en Bergeggi un lugar ideal para las inmersiones ya que la aldea es un impresionante complejo calcáreo de hasta 53 metros de altura (de ahí su altura sobre el nivel del mar) y los buceadores pueden observar los fondos marinos ricos en flora y fauna gracias a la claridad del agua del mar, descendiendo hasta una profundidad de 35 metros donde se pueden ver ver estalactitas y estalagmitas submarinas.

Another beach that deserves to be highlighted is the so-called Caletta di Bergeggi, with private lido, sand and pebbles that make it ideal for a family holiday, along an entire coastline interrupted from time to time by reefs, grottoes, galleries dug into the mountains to allow the motorways or the railway to pass through, and reaching the neighbouring town of Spotorno, which can only be reached by descending a long and steep flight of steps that will lead you directly to a transparent sea and a well-kept beach of evocative natural beauty.

Otra de las playas que merecen ser destacadas es la llamada Caletta di Bergeggi, con lido privado, arena y guijarros que la hacen ideal para unas vacaciones en familia, a lo largo de toda una línea de costa interrumpida de vez en cuando por escollos, grutas, galerías excavdadas dentro de las montañas para hacer pasar las autopistas o el propio ferrocarril y que llega hasta la vecina localidad de Spotorno, a la que sólo se puede llegar descendiendo un largo y empinado tramo de escaleras que le llevará directamente a un mar transparente y a una playa bien cuidada y d euna sugestiva belleza natural

At the beginning of the summer you can also enjoy many gastronomic initiatives characteristic of the area, one of which is the famous Sagra del Vino Nostralino, where the best wine and the best tasting wine are awarded, all accompanied by typical gastronomic delicacies, all events taking place in the town square, which is closed to vehicular traffic. In July the Sagra dei Saraceni (Saraceni Festival) takes place with similar characteristics, although in this case it is the gastronomy in general and not only the wine that is the main object of the festival.

A inicios del verano también se pueden disfrutar de muchas iniciativas gastronómicas características de la zona, una de las cuáles es la conocida Sagra del Vino Nostralino, donde se premia al mejor vino y al de mejor gusto, todo acompañado por delicias gastronómicas típicas, todos los eventos en la plaza del pueblo que se cierra al tránsito vehicular. Y en el mes de Julio se lleva a cabo la Sagra dei Saraceni (Fiesta de los Sarracenos) con características similares aunque en este caso es la gastronomía en general y no solo el vino el objeto prinicpal de la fiesta.

Although this weekend corresponds to the summer, also in the middle of winter - in the months of January and February - the temperatures are mild for that time of the year and usually vary between 1 and 12°C against the 16 and 29°C that normally characterize the summer days.

Si bien este weekend correponde al verano también en pleno invierno -en los meses de Enero y Febrero- las temperaturas son templadas para esa época del año y suelen oscilar entre 1 y 12°C contra los 16 y 29°C que normalmente caracterizan las jornadas estivas.
