Elderly Persons Should Learn To Use Smartphone Too

Welcome To My Blog

Hello friends, happy good wednesday. How are you doing today? I'm pleased to have you come to my blog.

In the 1960s it was incredibly rare to see smartphones and even if you saw it was held by wealthy persons. I can recall when my mother told sim card which we currently purchase approximately $0.5 which is #200-#500 in naira was expensive in those days and was sold for $1 and #1000 naira. And you know #1000 in those days was 1 million in those days because money has a lot of value. They even used it at that time. Only wealthy people who earn extremely well can buy it. Now even a child of approximately 15 already has a huge smartphone that contains 2 sims.

Even in these current world elderly persons born in the 1950s - 1960s who live in villages and aren't exposed to technology finds it hard to use a touch screen phone 😂 if at all they can attempt to manage a phone it must be a button phone which they can use to answer call when you wish to contact them. Then phones were also much heavier to carry about.

The ancient days they used letters to communicate and utilize humans or dogs to convey messages to people. To be honest, teaching an older person anything may be challenging. First they don't know about it, second you have to persuade them of the use of it.

I am educating an old person about smartphones. I will purchase one for them. Like they say, seeing is believing and if I show him how the phone looks and the characteristics it could be simpler to discuss it. I will let them know that smartphones are built in companies largely overseas with processors that create the function even as they are little. It is a portable gadget that makes calls, send messages.
Secondly, I will let them know about the uses of the smartphone.

Communication:
Will let them know that instead of writing letters that may take hours to compose, weeks to get to the person who you are writing to, you can simply just phone their number and get to them. The information may reach the recipient in seconds. It might be their children or family overseas or in the city. It is much easier to participate in video calls to visit their children who are distant from them.

Get information:
Instead of purchasing newspapers, it is simpler to get information over the radio by listening in or through the internet. Some may have radio in their houses but the phone is more of the visual element. The radio only enabled them to hear voices. Possibly present them with sources where they may read news everyday.

Using the smartphone you may also listen to music in your free time. I know certain small phones have SDcard space for but it's restricted unlike the smartphone that have greater capacity. We know elderly persons enjoy listening to music particularly when it comes to their native songs they derive joy in hearing and dancing to them.

Thank you for reading
