Today I’d like to share the next part of my tour through the western part of Barquisimeto, starting at the Obelisk roundabout, continuing along Pedro León Torres Avenue, and ending at Romulo Gallegos Avenue—also known as 42nd Street.

The Obelisk is an iconic monument over 70 meters tall, with a clock at its peak, serving as a viewpoint over the “Twilight City.” Surrounding it is a beautiful park where artists perform and people go to enjoy a recreational space.

From there, I walked along Pedro León Torres Avenue, which was recently restored with new curbs, repainted lines, and patched potholes.

Along this avenue, we find healthcare facilities such as the private hospital, as well as several shopping centers, including the Obelisco Shopping Center, where Mercafur operates with its beautiful façade.

Further on is the Ven Rol Shopping Center, and in the final blocks, we come to the municipal cemetery known as the Old Cemetery. It is called this because it is the city’s first cemetery; it no longer functions as such, but it still features mausoleums and tombs dating back many years.

With this restoration, the avenue has become more passable and has a better appearance, which is a significant step forward in improving traffic in the city.

Otro tramo del recorrido por la parte oeste de mi ciudad

Saludos amigos caminantes de @Wednesdaywalk, les deseo lo mejor en esta nueva semana que recién comienza.

Hoy les quiero compartir la continuación de mi recorrido por el oeste de la ciudad de Barquisimeto, desde la redoma el obelisco, siguiendo por la avenida Pedro León Torres y finalizando en la avenida Romulo Gallegos o también llamada la 42.

El obelisco es un monumento icónico de más de 70 metros de altura, con un reloj en su parte más alta y que funciona como un mirador de la ciudad Crepuscular. En sus alrededores cuenta con un bonito parque donde presentan artistas y las personas van a disfrutar de un sitio para la recreación.

Desde allí recorrí la avenida Pedro León Torres que recientemente fue restaurada con pintura de brocales, rayado y baches.

Por esta avenida encontramos centros de salud como el hospital privado, también varios centros comerciales entre ellos el centro comercial obelisco donde funciona mercafur con su bonita fachada.

Más adelante el centro comercial ven rol y en las últimas cuadras nos encontramos al cementerio mu icipal conocido como el cementerio viejo. Llamado así porque es el primer cementerio de la ciudad que ya no funciona como tal, pero aún muestra los mausoleos y tumbas de muy antigua data.

Con esta restauración, la avenida quedó más transitable y con una mejor cara, lo cual es un avance significativo para el mejoramiento del tránsito en la ciudad.
