A Day in My Life Blog: A Successful First Day of Our Vermiculture and Vermicomposting Seminar and Training Organized by MSU at Naawan Agriculture Department! πŸ˜‡πŸ€—πŸ™Œ

Have a Blessed Day to all ASEAN Hivers and all my Fellow Hivers all over the World!

The year 2026 is about to an end but as the year ends, I am happy and blessed for I still have some events that are very helpful not only for me but also for our Cooperative, in which mostly are farmers.

I just attended an important seminar and training about Vermiculture and Vermicomposting, in which all farmers and organizations were invited to join, so it can help in their respective farms and vegetables.

I am blessed to attend and I am happy to share it here, but before anything else, let me share my thanksgiving first. Thank you to all my supporters most especially the Admins, all Curators and all commenters for never leaving me until now.

It has been a few days ago when our Cooperative Chairperson sent me a message, telling me about the coming seminar and training in which she encourage me to join on behalf of our Cooperative in which she can't join as she have also other event to attend with.

At first, I a hesitant as I am not feeling well at the moment, but when she said that no one will attend from our Cooperative, so I have decided to attend, as I found it very interesting too.

The day has finally come for the 2 days Vermiculture and Vermicomposting Seminar and Training and for the first day, it will be held at the Municipal Function Hall of Naawan Misamis Oriental.

This is my first time to go inside the Municipal Hall of Naawan function hall, and I found it very nice place to held some events most especially that they are welcome to rent the hall for any special event that if ever went through.

Now, the seminar and training is scheduled to happen by 9:00 in the morning and as I arrive in the venue, it wasn't started yet as only few participants were present, and were waiting for some participants to come.

After 30 minutes of waiting, a few participants have finally arrived, and the organizers which are from the Mindanao State University Agriculture Department decided to start the program with an opening program.

Some of the Department heads have shared their opening remarks, and a welcome address from the College Dean, to officially open the seminar and training about Vermiculture and Vermicomposting.

Just after the opening and welcome address, it has been immediately followed by the first two topics that we should know about Vermiculture and Vermicomposting which is the main composition of Vermiculture, which is the Earthworm.

Vermiculture will not be happen without this animal, Earthworm, and so we should first know about the biology and different kinds of earthworm and some basic and important information about it.

The one who discussed about the biology of an Earthworm is the College Dean, in which as what he said, he is also a Scientist who have named some of the newly discovered species of an Earthworm here in the local and even abroad.

We're all very glad to meet him and shared some of his expertise about earthworms and the biology and the study about this kind of animal, and why is it very important.

Another topics that has been shared with other lecturer is the basic structure of the housing or a cage where we can culture the earthworms. The lecturer shared some important materials needed to make even for just a basic structure or any container we can also used.

Exactly 12:00 noon, the first two topics has been finished and since it is already lunchtime, we have now then took our lunch, in which the organizer prepared.

They have prepared a lot of foods today in which only few participants have come to joined but still we continued, and the organizer continued the seminar as what they said that they will still continue even with a few numbers of participants.

The foods that has been prepared are really delicious, but as at this moment of time, I am not that really good in conditions as I am not feeling well, I still eat a lot which makes me very full after.

It took us a few minutes taking up our lunch, and we have just rested for a while, and the remaining topics to discuss will be followed by around 1:00 in the afternoon. So, while waiting, we first have our rest room time and other things to do.

Finally, at around 1:00 in the afternoon the last part and last topics will be the next which is another exciting topics which we should know about Vermiculture and Vermicomposting.

The last topics to be discussed is all about the potential and why is it very important to know about Vermiculture and Vermicomposting, and how is it beneficial to our farmers.

As the discussion continues, we have know that Vermiculture and Vermicomposting were really helpful to our farmers most especially that is will not cost much money if we can used it as fertilizer.

It wil benefit our farmers as will us the consumers too, as the prices of any vegetables and fruits will be lower down, and so it will both benefit farmers and consumers.

The time was already 3:30 in the afternoon when the last topics has been done, it is now also time to end our first day of the seminar. It now time for us to go home too and be ready for the second day which is actual and hands-on.

This would be all for today's post, and until next time again, I just want to thank everyone in advance who will drop by my blog post.

To God be all the Glory! πŸ˜‡πŸ™Œβ˜οΈ

This is very interesting and useful, especially for me as a farmer.😍 We always look for ways to reduce our farm expenses, and making our own organic fertilizer would be a big help. I believe vermicomposting can help improve our soil and grow healthier crops. Thank you for sharing what you learned friend. πŸƒπŸŒΏ

I once visited a farm in the northern part of Cebu, and that was where I first learned about vermiculture. The caretaker showed me how it was done, so we went to a garden where he showed me an incredible number of earthworms. There were just so many of them that I couldn't even stand looking at them! Hehe.
