FIRST FAMILY OUTING OF THE YEAR 2023

After the celebration of the old year; as a family we have the unique family tradition of choosing a date together to go all together for a walk, where usually the dates selected can be from January 1st to the week of the 10th, since it is at this time where children are still on vacation and adults the same; for this reason the most exciting idea was to go for a walk to one of the most beautiful rivers as recognized in the state of Amazonas, called Pozo Cristal for its crystal clear waters and low pollution.

The second reason is that really one of the most fun activities no matter the age is swimming, running and walking in the river; in this kind of places different activities are done in the water and the children enjoy 100% swimming with the fishes; so both their smiles and the nice memories that are created are the reason to Yes to this kind of outings as soon as the year is over.

From my experience the most important thing for a family trip or tour is the preparation of the bags:

1. A bag for personal belongings such as personal identification, money, cream to prevent mosquito bites such as black ants and sunscreen.

2. Another bag for food, which in our case as a family consists of canned tuna, any kind of packaged candy or chocolate and cookies to share among all.

3. The bag to put the wet clothes in, since the least we want is to damage the car seats with the wet clothes or that when the family member sits down the smell is impregnated to the car.

4. The children's bags; this is the most important piece of luggage, since diapers, emergency medicines such as band-aids for first aid, towels for each one, the respective change of clothes and even the inflatables if they are carried.

You will understand that although it reads fast and looks simple, the preparation for this trip is a bit complicated; even so, it is really fun, since if a person misses something, we look for a solution together as a family, even if it is to make a diaper out of leaves of some plant😆.

Having arrived at the destination we all proceeded as a family to bring down the cooking implements, since it is the food that gives us enough energy to do all the mischief of the day, like playing hide and seek using the trees in the area and also playing volleyball on the river waters.

From our family experience the dish that yields the most and can be given for more than 24 guests or family members is the soup, since the water used is from the river and vegetables such as tubers are also cleaned in the river which makes its preparation one of the easiest and you can use the dry branches that are around the place to generate more heat; the second and third dish consisted of grilled fish and fried fish which is what is most abundant in the Amazon region for being a fishing area.

The fun of cooking and eating, is that out of nowhere a family atmosphere is generated where we all support each other to assemble the food in an irregular environment, without any type of manufactured kitchen; in turn in this environment while peeling vegetables also come to light family anecdotes of past years as in the year 2021 one of my cousins went fishing and only caught a shoe thinking it was a big fish.

I would affirm that the food and its preparation unites the family and generates great memories.

From my point of view, family outings are unique and unrepeatable moments, since no previous outing has ever been the same or similar even if the destination and place are the same, there will always be details that make each moment special within the normal; on the other hand I am happy to have the opportunity to see for a prolonged moment the happiness of all my cousins and I am three times as happy to know that all my younger cousins remember this moment with happiness, since mom, dad, aunt, uncle, grandmother and cousins get together to have fun without fights or arguments.

PERSONAL REFLECTION?

• Family moments should be cherished down to the last detail since you never know when they will cease to be given.
