St. Nicholas Fair

Hello everyone!
Recently, I visited a Traditional Craft Fair in Kyiv that took place before St. Nicholas Day. The fair was held at the Ivan Honchar Museum last weekend.

St. Nicholas Day is a favorite holiday of Ukrainians, which we celebrate on December 6. Therefore, we take care of gifts for children and relatives in advance, which we put under the pillow on the night of St. Nicholas Day. I assure you that not only children love to find gifts under the pillow in the morning, 6th December. Adults too! So, I came to this fair to look at craft products and to buy gifts for my family.

A festive mood was felt at the St. Nicholas Fair. So many bright colors around. These traditional Christmas masks immediately caught my attention.

I invite you to walk with me at the fair to look at the range of handmade products of Ukrainian masters. Let's go!

What do you like here? All craft products are so beautiful!

How do you like this wooden gingerbread board for baking Christmas gingerbread in the form of a bee? 🐝

Just look at these handmade straw crafts! They usually decorate a Christmas tree with them. I bought a couple of these straw angels as a gift for friends.

Didukh, a sheaf of straw. Ukrainians decorate their homes with it for Christmas. It is a symbol of harvest, well-being, and wealth.

Look who's here? He-he-he, red fox. Amazing wood toy! So cute.

As you can see, there are many people at the fair. Ukrainians want to have a piece of Merry Little Christmas in their hearts this year. So, by buying and giving such folk craft gifts to each other, we show love, care, and respect for our traditions, culture, and country.

Thank you for stopping by! See you next time. Have a lovely weekend.
