Back before everyone had video games in their pocket, most kids didn't even have a console or computer at home. This was a time we read books and some books were full of puzzles and games. We would call these analog games. Another analog game is rock fights, but that's not a safe game and if you do play it, wear a helmet. Weekly Waldo is a celebration of those analog times.
