Hace varios años atrás, hubo un muchacho muy ambicioso que crecía en una humilde casa hecha de madera a las afuera del Bosque Azul. Bastante apartado de todo, pero no lo suficiente como para mostrarle al muchacho Dodgy la intensidad y el ajetreo de la ciudad. A sus padres no les gustaba para nada ese movimiento de la ciudad, eran como dicen chapados a la antigua, vivían de la venta de pieles, ya luego vino la prohibición de venta y compra de estas y empezaron a vender miel, y algunos cultivos que producían. Vendían lo suficiente como para cubrir sus necesidades y comprar materiales para reparar la cabaña en la que vivían todos, pero no les alcanzaba para mucho más.

Cuando empezaba su adolescencia, Dodgy se convirtió en hermano mayor y tuvieron que vivir un poco más apretados. Él quería mucho a su nueva hermana Sofía y en esa pequeña cabaña eran sus padres, él y esta nueva niña que traía mucha vida al lugar, una vida que desde hacía tiempo no se veía (desde que Dodgy era mucho más niño) En ese momento el deseo de mejorar su situación creció. Al principio, él quería ayudar a sus padres así que se ofreció a vender los productos mientras su padre hacía reparaciones y seguía cuidando de las abejas y atendiendo los cultivos. Pero Dodgy decidió adentrarse cada vez más y más a la ciudad, mientras más se adentraba más pagaban por sus productos. De un momento a otro, pasó de tener una bicicleta a una motocicleta y podía hacer varios viajes de ida y vuelta, también hacía de mensajero para varias empresas.

Así fue por varios años y la cabaña estaba completamente arreglada, tenían más terrenos para los cultivos y las abejas. Así que producían más, ahora tenían varios vehículos para poder cumplir con todas las entregas. El negocio familiar creció increíblemente con estas incursiones del primogénito a la ciudad.

Dodgy no se quedó ahí, su ambición crecía y crecía y solo veía negocios que hacer. Así que a los 21 se mudó a la ciudad para hacer más negocios. Años después, se mudó a otra ciudad más grande y seguía así. Parecía no saciarse y sin querer cada día se iba alejando de casa y de su familia.

La familia, siguió con su negocio, pero poco a poco los pedidos de sus productos iban reduciéndose y con ello tenían que disminuir su personal y su flota de vehículos. Para ellos esto era normal, siempre había nuevos competidores. La hermana ya casi con la mayoría de edad, también ayudaba en el negocio e iba a la ciudad tratando de emular a su hermano buscando nuevos compradores, pero no tenía la pericia de su hermano. Ella lo hacía para ayudar al negocio familiar, pero no le gustaba mucho hacer esto. Pero, aprovechaba sus idas a la ciudad para asistir a varios cursos de canto. Sus padres pensaban que al tardar tanto ella se esforzaba mucho y aunque le deseaban que tuviera éxito, no querían que se fuera de casa tan lejos como su hermano.

El negocio decayó un poco más, decidieron dedicarse más a la venta de miel y lo poco que cultivaban era para ellos y el resto era vendido muy por debajo del precio, a sus clientes más fieles que también estaban en severos aprietos económicos. En ese tiempo, Dodgy regresó a casa para ayudar al negocio de la familia. Sus padres tenían tiempo que no lo veían así que se alegraron mucho, aunque estaban ahorrando todo lo que se podía quisieron hacerle un gran agasajo. Dodgy, había cambiado mucho no le prestó mucha atención a los detalles que sus padres organizaron para él, pensó que la cosa estaba mejor de lo que parecía. Pero, entendía el gran gesto que sus padres hicieron por él, así que lo recibió con buena cara.

Mientras compartían, observó los números del negocio. Tenía otros negocios que atender cerca así que no quería perder tanto tiempo y de repente empezó a perder el apetito. Por lo que observaba, vio que sus padres y su hermana hacían lo que tenían que hacer. Su padre tenía un par de ayudantes para atender a las abejas y su madre ayudaba con las cosechas con otros ayudantes extras. Al final de la noche, ambos se reunían y hacían las llamadas o enviaban emails a sus clientes para que confirmaran los pedidos y luego adelantaban la contabilidad. Al día siguiente le entregaban todo al contador de la empresa familiar y él se encargaba de hacer los asuntos técnicos. Cómo debían hacer confirmaciones personalizadas, solía ir su hermana a la ciudad para hacer algunas entregas y conversar con las tiendas y los posibles nuevos clientes.

Mientras evaluaban todos estos pasos, que parecían estaban bien diseñados para que la empresa se mantuviera a flote sin muchos inconvenientes incluso con una sana competencia. Sofía sintió la necesidad de revelar que cuando algunos clientes no la pudieron recibir o pararon de hacer pedidos, ella no insistió más con ellos en cambio estaba asistiendo a unas clases de canto desde hacía varios meses. Como el ambiente estaba algo tenso, porque se trataba de un asunto muy importante para Dodgy (de dinero) no dudó en regañarla, pero muy severamente, aunque sus padres no fueron tan fuertes como Dodgy, se pusieron de su lado, no pudieron creer que estuviera despilfarrando el dinero en clases de canto con lo severa que estaba la situación. Ella les contestaba que ese era el dinero de sus ahorros que desde hacía un año que ella no recibía ningún pago. Esto exaltó más los ánimos y Dodgy le dijo que estaba perdiendo el tiempo y que debió dedicarle energías para hablar con los clientes que habían perdido y tratar de renegociar con ellos y vender los productos, que todos estaban poniendo de su parte y que ella no debería ser tan egoísta. Esto la hizo sentir muy mal porque desde muy niña estuvo ayudando a sus padres y al propio Dodgy para que los negocios salieran bien. Ella se los dijo y le dijo: - así como él se fue y dejó a su familia atrás por seguir sus sueños, ella también quería hacerlo, no se quería olvidar de su familia, solo quería seguir su sueño y quería ser cantante, quería darles la sorpresa en el aniversario de sus padres, pero ya todo se arruinó. “Ya todo lo arruinaste Dodgy. ¿Qué te ocurrió? Antes eras el mejor hermano del mundo y te preocupabas por nosotros y ahora apenas comes nuestra comida y nos tratas como tus empleados. ¿Qué te ocurrió?” Le dijo Sofía mientras lloraba y salía corriendo a su habitación. Dodgy por la ira le decía varias cosas que ya ella no le prestó más atención. Todos se quedaron en silencio y su madre les dijo que debían calmarse, así que todos se levantaron de la mesa y se fueron a descansar.

Dodgy esa misma noche en la privacidad de su cuarto hizo unos cálculos más y se dio cuenta también que el contador estaba fallando severamente, parecía que los estaba robando. Se sintió muy apenado por la situación con su hermana y se dijo que a la mañana siguiente se disculparía y trataría de enmendar los errores, con este pensamiento en mente se logró dormir. Mientras, Sofía llorando seguía pensando que la compañía de su familia estaba en serios aprietos por su culpa y decidió hacer lo que estaba a su alcance para ayudar. Así que tomó varias de sus cosas, las fotografió y las subió a un portal de compras y ventas online muy popular, también añadió a la venta su camioneta. Esa misma noche recibió algunas ofertas y programó ver a varios tempranos en la mañana.

A la mañana siguiente, Sofía salió de casa antes de que despertaran todos con las cosas que iba a vender y con su camioneta, iba en dirección a la ciudad cercana. Luego, Dodgy se despertó y decidió preparar el desayuno, se dio cuenta que no había mucho que hacer, así que optó por unos cereales. Mientras desayunaba esperaba ansioso que su hermana saliera de su cuarto para pedirle disculpas. Se levantaron sus padres hablaron con él y se dieron cuenta de que habían exagerado el día anterior y que se dejaron llevar por el estrés de la compañía y la pagaron con Sofía que es la más inocente de toda esta situación. Les pareció raro que Sofía no saliera de su cuarto, así que el padre decidió tocar a la puerta de su cuarto para que bajara a desayunar, además de que querían hablar con ella. Pero, no hubo respuesta. Pensaron que seguía molesta, aunque nunca se comportaba así, decidieron darle su espacio.

Pasaron las horas y no sabían nada de Sofía, decidieron abrir el cuarto para ver que le ocurría y se dieron cuenta que ya ella no estaba en su cuarto. Revisaron y su camioneta tampoco se encontraba. Se preocuparon mucho y empezaron a llamarla con preocupación, pero no contestaba, siempre caía la contestadora. Fueron a la policía para que los ayudaran a buscarla, pero no podían hacer nada, porque no había pasado el tiempo necesario desde su desaparición, sin embargo, les prometieron que los llamarían en la noche para saber de la situación y comenzar con la búsqueda de ser necesario.

Así, llegó la noche y no sabían nada de ella. Llegó una llamada y era de la policía, la familia esperaba la llamada para notificarles que aún Sofía no aparecía y querían solicitarles nuevamente ayuda para buscarla. La policía, les dijo que habían encontrado a Sofía, pero que iba camino al hospital de la ciudad, había sido golpeada severamente. Que era muy importante que llegaran al hospital. La llamada terminó y salieron todos disparados al hospital.

Al llegar al hospital los recibió un médico y les dio la penosa noticia de que Sofía había muerto en el quirófano, había sido tan lastimada que varios de sus órganos dejaron de funcionar. Toda la familia se rompió en llanto. El padre aún no lo creía, tuvo que ver el rostro de su hija pálida y sentir su fría piel para entender que ella había dejado de existir. Quedó sin habla e ido. Él no podía responder y la madre no paraba de llorar. Dodgy tuvo que averiguar qué pasó con la policía que también estaba en el hospital y les había dado el espacio para que recibieran la noticia y se calmaran.

Le notificaron que aparentemente Sofía llegó a temprana hora a la ciudad para verse con varios compradores para vender algunas cosas. Principalmente equipo grabación y de canto. Cuando se encontraron, este le intentó robar la camioneta y todo el dinero que tenía, por la fuerza. Al encontrar a este individuo con la camioneta y con tanto dinero confesó que le quería robar desde un principio. Estamos seguro que fue él, tenemos un video de seguridad donde aparecen ambos que debemos ver. Lo otro lo podemos constatar por la información que obtuvimos del teléfono celular de Sofía que parecía haber sido destrozado en la paliza que le propinó. El ladrón no le interesó y lo dejó junto al cuerpo magullado de su hermana. Hace un par de horas un guardia del parque mientras hacía sus rondas, encontró a su hermana y llamó a emergencias. Su hermana era muy fuerte, es increíble que haya aguantado tanto con tan severos maltratos que sufrió. Nuestro más sentido pésame, tenga por seguro que tenemos al responsable y este crimen no quedará impune.

La policía se fue y Dodgy quedó junto a sus padres solos como al comienzo, recordando la felicidad que tuvieron cuando Sofía había llegado a sus vidas y ahora, esa felicidad se estaba esfumando. Empezó a llorar desconsoladamente pidiendo perdón por haberla tratado tan mal la noche anterior y en varias ocasiones decía: “fue el contador, no fuiste tú perdóname. Por favor no te vayas sin darme la oportunidad de disculparme” mientras sollozaba.

Un día antes del entierro, Dodgy y sus padres entraron a la habitación de Sofía con la intención de buscar algún tipo de agenda para notificarle al resto de sus amigos de lo acontecido y que eran bienvenidos acompañarlos en la ceremonia. Dodgy encendió la laptop de Sofía y buscó en sus redes, iba escribiéndole a las personas con las que más estaba en contacto, también anotaba números y hacía llamadas y de repente entró al canal de @3Speak de Sofía y vio algunos de sus videos cantando y quedó maravillado, le colocó volumen para que sus padres escucharan y fue inevitable que las lágrimas volvieran a correr. Esta vez las disculpas fueron de toda la familia no solo de Dodgy. Ella tenía una hermosa voz y aunque aún mostraba timidez en los videos, tenía muchos seguidores que la aupaban a lanzarse profesionalmente y aparentemente esa idea le gustaba mucho.

Enterraron a Sofía y en ese momento, Dodgy deseó tener una oportunidad como la de aquella noche en la que reprendió a su hermana por querer ser cantante. Quiso darle el apoyo a otra prometedora cantante, un apoyo como el que su hermana merecía, un apoyo para una persona que daba todo por sus seres queridos y ocultaba su don. Quiso redimirse y después de ese momento, abrió una disquera, para captar nuevos talentos y aprovechó la oportunidad de hacer reconocida la voz de su hermana. Esas canciones fueron los primeros éxitos de la disquera. Las regalías que obtenían las canciones servían para mantener escuelas de canto y para impulsar el trabajo de los nuevos artistas.

Dodgy didn't stop there, his ambition grew and grew and he only saw business to do. So at 21 he moved to the city to do more business. Years later, he moved to another bigger city and kept it up. He just couldn't seem to get enough and unintentionally moved farther and farther away from home and his family every day.

The family continued with their business, but little by little the orders for their products were decreasing and with that they had to reduce their staff and their fleet of vehicles. For them this was normal, there were always new competitors. The sister, who was almost of age, also helped in the business and went to the city trying to emulate her brother looking for new buyers, but she did not have her brother's expertise. She did it to help the family business, but she didn't really like doing this. But, she took advantage of her trips to the city to attend various singing courses. Her parents felt that by taking so long she was trying too hard and although they wished her success, they did not want her to leave home as far away as her brother.

The business declined a little more, they decided to dedicate more to the sale of honey and the little they grew was for themselves and the rest was sold well below the price, to their most loyal customers who were also in severe financial straits. At that time, Dodgy returned home to help the family business. His parents had not seen him for a long time so they were very happy, even though they were saving everything they could, they wanted to give him a big treat. Dodgy, who had changed a lot, didn't pay much attention to the details that his parents organized for him, he thought that things were better than they seemed. But, he understood the great gesture his parents made for him, so he received it with a good face.

As the atmosphere was somewhat tense, because it was a very important matter for Dodgy (money) he did not hesitate to scold her, but very severely, although her parents were not as strong as Dodgy, they sided with her, they could not believe that she was squandering money on singing lessons with how severe the situation was. She told them that it was money from her savings and that she had not been paid for a year. This made things even more heated and Dodgy told her that she was wasting her time and that she should have spent her energy talking to the customers who had lost and trying to renegotiate with them and sell the products, that they were all doing their part and that she should not be so selfish. This made her feel very bad because from a very young age she was helping her parents and Dodgy himself to make business go well. She told them and said to him: - just like he went and left his family behind to follow his dreams, she also wanted to do it, she didn't want to forget her family, she just wanted to follow her dream and she wanted to be a singer, she wanted to surprise them on her parents' anniversary, but everything was ruined. "You ruined everything Dodgy, what happened to you? You used to be the best brother in the world and cared about us and now you barely eat our food and treat us like your employees. what happened to you?" Sophia told him as she cried and ran out to her room. Dodgy out of anger was saying several things to her that she didn't pay attention to anymore. Everyone was silent and their mother told them they should calm down, so they all got up from the table and went to rest.

They found it odd that Sofia didn't come out of her room, so the father decided to knock on her room door to get her to come down for breakfast, plus they wanted to talk to her. But, there was no answer. They thought she was still upset, although she never behaved like that, so they decided to give her her space.

Hours went by and they didn't hear anything from Sofia, they decided to open her room to see what was wrong and realized that she was not in her room. They checked and her truck was not there either. They became very worried and began to call her with concern, but she did not answer, the answering machine always went down. They went to the police to help them look for her, but they could not do anything, because the necessary time had not passed since her disappearance, however, they were promised that they would call them at night to know the situation and start the search if necessary.

So, the night came and they knew nothing about her. A call came from the police, the family was waiting for the call to notify them that Sofia was still missing and they wanted to ask them again for help to look for her. The police told them that they had found Sofia, but that she was on her way to the city hospital, she had been severely beaten. It was very important that they get to the hospital. The call ended and they all rushed off to the hospital.

When they arrived at the hospital they were met by a doctor and he gave them the distressing news that Sofia had died in the operating room, she had been so badly injured that several of her organs had stopped working. The whole family broke down in tears. The father still did not believe it, he had to see his daughter's pale face and feel her cold skin to understand that she had ceased to exist. He was speechless and gone. He couldn't respond and the mother wouldn't stop crying. Dodgy had to find out what happened from the police who were also at the hospital and had given them the space to get the news and calm down.

The police left and Dodgy was left with his parents alone as at the beginning, remembering the happiness they had when Sofia had come into their lives and now, that happiness was vanishing. She began to cry inconsolably asking for forgiveness for having treated her so badly the night before and on several occasions she said: "It was the accountant, it wasn't you, forgive me. Please don't leave without giving me a chance to apologize" as she sobbed.

A day before the funeral, Dodgy and her parents went into Sofia's room with the intention of looking for some kind of agenda to notify the rest of her friends of what had happened and that they were welcome to join them at the ceremony. Dodgy turned on Sofia's laptop and searched her networks, he was writing to the people he was in contact with the most, he was also writing down numbers and making calls and suddenly he entered Sofia's @3Speak channel and saw some of her videos singing and was amazed, he set the volume so her parents could listen and it was inevitable that the tears started to flow again. This time the apologies were from the whole family not just Dodgy. She had a beautiful voice and although she still showed shyness in the videos, she had many followers who were rooting for her to launch herself professionally and apparently she really liked that idea.

He wanted to give support to another promising singer, a support like the one his sister deserved, a support for a person who gave everything for her loved ones and hid her gift. She wanted to redeem herself and after that moment, she opened a record label, to capture new talents and took the opportunity to make her sister's voice recognized. Those songs were the label's first hits. The royalties from the songs were used to support singing schools and to promote the work of new artists.
