(Edited)
There are many jobs I would be terrible at but there is one that surpasses the others. Greetings everyone and welcome to my blog. it's another beautiful week to share my story. this brings me to the answer to the second question

What job would you be terrible at?

if you want to be a part of this contest kindly click on the link.

Going to a higher institution, I wanted to explore all sides of the University. I know my course choice wouldn't be a problem for me because I understand the process and all I need to do was attend lectures and read my books as I did in secondary school. The other time was to explore and enjoy school in a very good way.

Beings a lawyer was impossible for me. A lawyer's main duties are to uphold the law while protecting a client's rights. Studying law in Nigeria takes 5years, it is interesting but also challenging. A law student must pay more attention to his writing skills to be able to write efficiently and finely.
My classmate and friend's younger sister who study law then were always busy reading and writing so she could make good grades. We read too but not like her. she was always stressed in school so we help her cook and do other stuff to give her more time to read.
law is complex and has many areas you can specialize in for example
Complex Litigation, Corporate Law, Tax Law, Intellectual Property, Blockchain, Healthcare, Environmental, Criminal law.

BEING A LAW HAS ITS DISADVANTAGES AND ADVANTAGES

DISADVANTAGES

  1. High level of stress: Greater incidence of depression, mental health issues, and suicide affect lawyers.
  2. High cost of tuition fees for legal education. it cost a lot to pay for school fees as a law student.
  3. Choice of clients: If you practice criminal law, you may not even be sure if your client committed the crime that brought you together in the first place it takes a lot of risks.

ADVANTAGES

  1. You have a variety of career parts. As a criminal prosecutor, you can represent the law in your community
  2. High earnings: most lawyers have a defined income. Although it is tough to get this amount of income when you first receive your degree, the latter become rich as the years go by.
  3. Notability: As a law student, you will gain the respect of your family and friends, and you will be able to assist them in the future if they require the services of a skilled lawyer.

I would be terrible being a lawyer it would be advisable for anyone who wants to go into the legal profession to look at the disadvantages and advantages before they venture into that space.

Thank you for reading.

Lawyers help protect your rights too when there's injustice. So they are also important in the society. They give hope to the common man

True, Good lawyers give hope to the society. In my country lawyers are respected but when you have an encounter with the bad once you would never want to have an encounter with lawyer.
Everyone knows their academical ability and the area where they can do very well. as much as i admire lawyers i know i would be terrible at it. Thanks for stopping by

Hello @floraada. You present an interesting approach to the contest question. You are correct in that there are numerous areas of law people can practice that interest them.

You set out the advantages and disadvantages to practicing law in Nigeria. Every profession has its advantages and disadvantages. Why do you feel you'd be terrible at this profession?

Also, when you say one of the disadvantage of this profession is:

"High level of stress: Greater incidence of depression, mental health issues, and suicide affect lawyers."

Is this specific to practicing law in Nigeria? If so, is there research you can point to that provides evidence of the higher levels of stress in the areas you set out above?

Also, don't forget that one of the requirements of the contest is to place the Contest # in your title so other Community members can easily locate all the contest entries.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Have a good rest of your week. Take care.

Thank you for the reminder you must be a sweetheart for sharing you care and concern towards me.
if i may ask, are you a lawyer? from your profile i discovered you into digital Art and designing. Forgive me if my concern towards the contest was not what you expected.

Why do you feel you'd be terrible at this profession?

Everyone has their own level of academic understanding and as a person you know what you can do with little or no help in a harsh or comfortable situation. My first degree was Economics but for my love for engineering i had to do some courses in Engineering to fit into my work space as an engineer. so you see if being a lawyer was a second option i would be terrible at it. I know that lawyers are needed in the society and they play a major role to help the citizens. Also its a privilege to have a lawyer from your family but i know what i comfortably take academically without struggle.
My friends younger sister who is now a lawyer went through a lot financially in school also she was always complaining of the stress until when we started helping her. today she successful lawyer.
i also had the privilege to work in a law firm for a year I didn't like. i admire lawyers but i know i would be terrible being a lawyer. thanks for your great concern.

@floraada, my intent to point out a couple items is not to say that your responses were wrong. Your answer above in the comment I feel is the one that is specific as to the reason why the position is not right for you.

"Everyone has their own level of academic understanding and as a person you know what you can do with little or no help in a harsh or comfortable situation."

Also, when you spoke of working in a law firm for a year, it really brought back memories. I was a Paralegal for 35 years before I retired several years ago. And you are correct, it's very stressful. I learned so much that has helped me in my everyday life.

When you put forth a claim about a high incident of suicide among lawyers, that statement needs to be corroborated with research and statistics.

Thanks for your response.

Take care.

Wow 35years in the paralegal firm, its a long time let me just call you lawyer @justclickindiva 😊.
I learnt alot working in the law firm alot that made me exceptional in my work place, more like a personal assistant to my boss.
I see how the young lawyer in the firm I work struggle with letters just to make them perfect they are always having headache because the principal lawyer was a harsh one. That's the reason I made those comment. Please forgive me if it wasn't said in the right words. Thank you for your beautiful comment.

I am imagining how challenging it would be to balance the rigorous academic demands of law school while also maintaining your mental and emotional well-being. Your friend's younger sister's experience is a testament to the level of dedication and hard work required to succeed in the field.

In fact, lawyers are one of the careers I respect so much, the process and stress alone you have to go through to be called a lawyer is not child's play

I think this is one job that I would not even want to try my hands on, so I would not be bothered to even understand if I will be able to or not. It is such a painful job
