Eight healthcare workers will face trial over Maradona’s death

The renowned footballer's death has caused some controversies that have resulted to the trial of some medical personnel who attended to the former Boca Junior and Napoli player.
It's getting to three (3) year since the 1986 world cup winner died, investigations have been made concerning the situation relating to his death and eight healthcare workers have been charged with several offenses in relation to his death.
The footballing great, who led Argentina to a second World Cup title in 1986, died aged 60 on November 2020, from heart failure after undergoing brain surgery days earlier.
Three judges from an appeals court in San Isidro, a town on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, rejected defence appeals for a lesser charge and upheld a year-old indictment by prosecutors for “reckless and inefficient work” in the treatment of the former Boca Juniors and Napoli player, TV channel TN reported.
Neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque and psychiatrist Agustina Cosachov are accused of failing to care for Maradona.
Maradona's legal team said that the healthcare workers didn't care for the football legend. It's obvious to note that negligence isn't an excuse in situations that might lead to a patients death. A healthcare professional needs to act professionally at all times to care for her patient.
Maradona’s medical team also included psychologist Carlos Diaz, doctors Nancy Forlini and Pedro Di Spagna, nursing coordinator Mariano Perroni and nurses Ricardo Almiron and Dahiana Madrid.
According to reports from November 11 to 25, Maradona lived in a rented residence outside Buenos Aires; two nurses accompanied him after being discharged from the clinic where Neurosurgeon Luque performed his surgery.
The date for the proceedings have not been fixed but hopefully it'll be before next year. The autopsy of maradona's death says he died of natural cause, although they have to prove beyond reasonable doubt that it was actually of natural cause.
