Recycled Art
Today I'm going to show you a special kind of art, that is not very common. Recycled art is not a new thing, you see it everywhere these days, but this one is special.
Years ago I knew a guy from Hungary, who had a friend, who was creating different objects using recycled pieces, like toothpaste caps, Lego parts, anything that fit his needs and was available for free. He was mostly building space ships, raptors, different robots and science fiction warrior figures. Those object were listed for sale, but back then no one was willing to pay the price he asked for them. Kind of felt sorry for him as he put in a lot of work and what he created was unique as well, nicely painted at the end, but I think people were not educated enough to see the value in his work.
Today I'm going to show you the work of an artist, who knew how to give a second life to things we don't use anymore. These works were created this year in an art camp.
Árpád Szabó - Autumn Landscape
Apart from the feathers, it may look like nothing extraordinary here. However, I appreciate the artist using feathers to replace the trees. The harmony between the colors is also admirable. I love how the yellow sun matches the shades of brown and that tiny blue above the sun is a little extra.
Looking at these artworks from far, you may not see much, apart from some dark paintings. So let's look at them from close, one by one. Let's reveal the big secret.
Árpád Szabó - Another World
When people mention the other world, or another world, they usually mean heaven, or hell, depending on how good they were during their life and if they believe in such things. This artwork however does not seem to be that world. It's hard to figure out what the painting means. What I see is a (drone) view of water and land maybe? But there are those strange elements that you don't usually see on a painting.
I took a close up photo for you to show you what those are. Don't ask me their names as I'm not as educated in this field, but there are electronic pieces, I know that much. So the artist used these electronic pieces to create his artwork.
Árpád Szabó - Dynamic
Do you recognize any piece on the canvas? There are two connectors and several small pieces.
Árpád Szabó - Chaos
Most likely an IT person can identify the pieces on the canvas, but to me, it doesn't look like chaos at all. It's a nice abstract, but different from what one would define chaos.
Árpád Szabó - Grinder
This was a cool one. I'm in deep trouble here as I don't know how that piece is called, but most likely others do. I loved how the artist made a windmill out of it. There are computer ports and keys as well, which makes it more interesting.
Árpád Szabó - Full Moon
The moon here is actually a battery you use for scales. At least my scales have batteries of the same size.
Árpád Szabó - Drought
Looking from above, most likely this is how a drought land would look like. I love how the artist used those pieces, it's like when a lake dries out and different wrecks come to surface from the bottom of the lake. Another thing that I need to mention is those lovely brown colors. Too bad the paintings were not hung right. They never are, so I need to struggle with processing the photos.
Árpád Szabó - Scraper
If I were to buy one, this would be the one. The concept is amazing and the execution is amazing as well. The colors he used as background and the texture makes it look old, but what matters the most is the harmony among colors. He used the small pieces to create a cityscape, buildings, small and tall.
Árpád Szabó - Unkempt
What you see here is an Intel memory card with uncombed hair, that most likely is not used anywhere anymore.
This is a particular type of art and not many are doing it. I've been to quite a lot of exhibitions lately, but I think this was the only one of this type, but I hope not the last one.

That is amazing what they are accomplishing with recycled bits and pieces. Colors and flow are excellent in most of them. I really wasn't aware or recycled art, thanks for sharing!

Indeed, this artist had a vision and did a great job putting his idea on canvas. The harmony between the pieces and colors is something to admire.

Yeah, the Louvre is fantastic, have been there and can confirm. However, the big galleries don't allow photographing, so that's for the eye only 🙁 Big cities have a lot to offer in terms of art, but I don't know how many allow photographing, maybe 2%.
Wow, I like these pieces of art! I love to recycle little things to create little scenes in form of dioramas and so I really appreciate artists who use their imagination to create something new using something old . ☺️

Yes, I'm recycling different pieces. I use to collect small "treasures" like, for example, old keys, old screws, scraps of fabrics, destroyed books, metal parts of mechanical things, etc. Since some years I create wooden boxes where I represent cornes of the houses using recycled things. I like to create them and here (fortunately) people seems to appreciate this kind of artwork. ^_^

I wish that too, but have no talent. However, we can try as you never know. Creating your first artwork can give you motivation for the next one, or make you quit 😀 You can only find out if you try it out.
I enjoyed watching this paintings, they are so original. I really like this kind of art, it tells me about the creative mind the artist has. When I was a kid I used to do something similar to this, but instead I used fabrics in my paintings, it was a fun process.
Fiber art and textile art is a real thing and I'm planning to start creating something, but never have the time :( Maybe one day 😕

My former neighbour, an artist, also used to make some of his artworks from recycled materials, giving them a new life.

I love this kind of art that goes a little away from the tradicional and expand the limit of what is a regular paint , and it is looking for a more creative proposal , also because it give to the object other chance to be useful 👌
It's a new direction indeed, but a good and interesting one as sky is the limit to what you can create through it.

This is a very expensive idea, a useless object or trash, they can create a very valuable art painting. This is truly amazing. thank you for sharing with us
Well, the expensiveness of the project lies in buying the canvas and paint as acrylic painting is not cheap. The rest, the pieces you can find in a repair service as they don't use these anymore. They even have to pay for discarding these as you can't just throw them in the trash. These items need to be recycled, so this is one form of it. Obviously this is just 0.0000000000000000001% of recycling.
This is an expensive thought with a good idea. I became interested in this project. thank you for sharing with us

It's a little like me! I love and create with things I find, I don't use it in my paintings. So much material I collected so I can make, as I call it, wall decorations. You have really inspired me to get started!

I have always been fascinated by the art of recycling
Creating something beautiful with recycled objects is always more difficult than creating something with classic brushes and artistic tools because you have a small number of elements on the basis of which you have to imagine and create something beautiful.
Really original paintings and with the many old or broken hard disks I have at home I could make a windmill factory :)

Me too but so far I've only been able to create bags using jeans and shirts. Dunno of that counts :)
We agree on that as you don't have the freedom to create whatever you want as you have the recycled pieces, that already take a part of the creating and dictate a certain style.
I hope to see more art of this kind in the future. Let's see if this kind of art can evolve in the near future.

It's fascinating to hear about the artist who repurposed recycled materials to create unique pieces of art. It's often the case that people don't immediately recognize the value in such work.
