Another Monochrome Practice - Random Photos For Fun

As a photo enthusiast, I often take photos of random things, scenes, without any purpose, or maybe just to practice, to see if I can get something nice out of it. These photos are just piling up in my folders, till I take the time to go through them, select a good few and post them.

So today it's one of those days, when I'm posting a bunch of random photos, just for fun.

One of the things I always admire when it comes to photography is reflection in the puddle. Some are talented and capture some lovely scenes. I hardly ever have the occasion to do such thing for two reasons. One is the constant and growing drought, that makes finding puddles impossible. The other is good roads and walkways. Puddles can only form where there's some kind of depression, where water can gather. This week I was lucky to find one. It's not exactly the scene I wanted to capture, but beggars can't be choosers, right?

Then I saw this huge, (almost) empty square, paved with cobblestones. I have a thing for cobblestones, especially if you can find them in a medieval city center. To make it more interesting, I added some effects. I'm not sure if I made it better or worse though :)

Follow the light! This is an obsession of mine, narrowing roads and corridors, from a certain point of view and won't miss taking photos, ever. This structure has around or more than 750 years. Over the years it's been renovated countless times, but time has an effect on everything, and as you can see, this structure is not an exception. It served well for my photo, but from historical point of view, it's sad. let's hope they can get some funds and restore it.

These stones are part of the pavement, of the arched entrance. These are not modern era cobblestones. These are medieval stones, the originals. Now shiny, after all the traffic they had to handle. I love the texture of that big stone in the center.

The beauty of this is that the bottom part is made of real stones. This is the original, medieval wall. The upper part has bricks too, which may be the work of a later era. These walls have been knocked down several times during different fights and rebuilt after.

The railways from above. The truth is, here I wanted to take a photo through the wire mesh, but it was not symmetrical, so it looked awful.

I think there's a lot of room for improvement. These days are rainy, according to the weather forecast there will be raining every day, so there's a good chance to find a nice, long paddle and practice reflection, if there's a nice building in front of it.
