Haciendo mi segunda libreta para tipografía, lienzo blanco / Creating my second typography notebook, white canvas (Esp/Eng)

Hoy he realizado mi segunda libreta para hacer tipografías, la primera tenía el lienzo de color negro, con cartulina de color negro, la que hice hoy tiene el lienzo blanco, hecho con cartulina opalina. Para diferenciarla una de la otra le puse una cubierta o tapa de color rojo transparente. Estos materiales (las cubiertas, encuadernadora y aros) tienen conmigo muchos años de cuando tenía el centro de telecomunicaciones, es mejor darles uso porque se están venciendo de tenerlos guardados, generalmente los uso cuando a mi hijo menor le piden trabajos en el liceo.
He colocado aros grandes porque pretendo más adelante colocar más hojas y formar un portafolio.
La tipografía para mí, es muy buena para agilizar mi parte motriz, motivarme con la creatividad y bajar los niveles de estrés de estos días.
Les muestro paso a paso cómo se hace.

Hello everyone!
Today I made my second notebook for creating typefaces. The first one had a black cover made from black cardstock; the one I made today has a white cover made from opaline cardstock. To tell them apart, I put a transparent red cover on it. I’ve had these materials (the covers, binding machine and rings) for many years, ever since I ran the telecommunications centre; it’s best to put them to use as they’re getting a bit worn from being stored away. I usually use them when my youngest son is set projects at school.
I’ve used large rings because I plan to add more sheets later and turn it into a portfolio.
For me, calligraphy is a great way to improve my motor skills, stimulate my creativity and reduce the stress levels of these times.
I’ll show you step by step how it’s done.

Divide la tapa por la mitad y la cartulina opalina, al principio lo hice con tijera, luego me di cuenta que no hacía el corte tan perfecto, así que usé un cuter con una regla y queda mejor, esto hay que hacerlo con mucho cuidado. El mismo procedimiento lo hice con la tapa.
Luego organiza el material, cada cubierta en su lugar y la cartulina opalina en medio.

Cut the cover in half and the opal card; at first I used scissors, but then I realised the cut wasn’t very neat, so I used a craft knife with a ruler and it turned out better – you need to do this very carefully. I followed the same procedure with the cover.
Then arrange the materials, with each cover in its place and the opal card in the middle.

Colocamos la tapa posicionada de la guía de la encuadernadora, luego de cerciorarnos que está en el lugar correcto bajamos la palanca para perforar el plástico, repetimos este paso con cada cartulina y por último la portada.
Una vez terminado de perforar organizamos nuevamente las tapas y las cartulinas.

Place the cover on the binding machine’s guide; once you’ve checked that it’s in the correct position, lower the lever to punch holes in the plastic. Repeat this step for each sheet of card and, finally, the front cover.
Once you’ve finished punching the holes, rearrange the covers and sheets of card.

Coloca el aro en la encuadernadora, con la abertura hacia arriba, hala la palanca al lado inverso para abrir los anillos.
Introduce la primera cubierta luego cada cartulina opalina, para finalizar coloca la otra tapa de portada.
Lleva la palanca a su posición normal para que cierre los aros y corta el aro excedente.

Place the ring in the binding machine with the opening facing upwards, then pull the lever on the opposite side to open the rings.
Insert the first cover, followed by each sheet of opaline card, and finish by placing the other cover on top.
Return the lever to its normal position to close the rings and cut off the excess ring.

Yes that is true Ma'am, here I also used those old spring notebook. I carefully removed those paper and put together before binding it using yarn. This post of yours Ma'am is whole new level for me and I really to make it. ☺️
