A closer look into Carcassonne
Yesterday since we got pretty late to Carcassonne we didn’t really get to see the city in depth. Today, instead we queued for about 20 min to get inside of Carcassonne’s palace.

Once we got inside we were given an audio guide to go around the palace.
We were first brought here, where we could see an open space that was initially covered by another floor. Of course over the years it has ‘disappeared’.

Next we got to pass through this bridge, which had been a drawbridge that would move from one side to another.

Once inside we got to see the clothes they would wear over the course of time that people were actually living in the palace.
Here are some of my favorites:

We also got to see things that were once used in the palace or that were actually part of the palace.
For example, this giant round rocks that we’re thrown from the castle to their enemies

Before heading to lunch we took a look at the rest of the city.
Here are some pictures I took of my favorite spots:

Although, the old medieval city is very impressive and unique, I do have to admit that the new part of the city is also beautiful. That is why after lunch we headed there to see new things.

I hoped you enjoyed it :)

These are some fantastic shots!
Visiting an old palace gives you so much to learn about history. It gives an idea how the mankind used to live in those days.
I agree, and just imagining how they built everything without today’s technology is very impressive
Yes that's the secret that has to be discussed.. a huge man power was needed at that time.
Yay! 🤗
