Exploring Ko Samet Island
Hey dear community, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my contribution and hope you have a day so far that has brought many interesting experiences into your life! In this post I would like to share an experience I made in Thailand and I am happy if you like my work.
I spent most of my time in Thailand on the mainland, but it was clear to me from the beginning that I wanted to visit an island one day and at the beginning Ko Samui or Phuket was an option for me, which was not possible because of the time and the long transport. After some research, I decided on Ko samet, which is not so far away from Bangkok, but I drove there from Pattaya and this was the last stop during my trip before I returned to Bangkok to catch my return flight. From Pattaya I took the bus to the island and then I had the opportunity to take the ferry or the speed boat for only a few dollars and here the name is really program and it only took about 20 minutes until I arrived at the pier. Arrived on the island I had to pay a small tax to be able to enter it and it's also very important to have the note you get ready later because it may be that this is needed one more time and otherwise has to be paid again for it.

The island is not that large and I actually managed to walked half the island in a few hours in one day, but it was initially complicated with my luggage, which is why I took a bus that goes directly from the pier for a few Baht. My hotel was right by the sea which was of course an absolute highlight and I deliberately decided to stay on the island to get a break from all the informations or stressful urban influences and to end my time in Thailand, this place was really perfect. Although there is a temple on the island, there is not as much culture as in other parts that I have visited, but rich in nature as well as other spectacles such as fire shows which take place on a daily basis and there is not only one to be seen and in total I have discovered three places where these shows take place, but I think that it will be similar in other parts of the island.
I probably rather stayed in the more busy part of the island and had it from my hotel not far to the water or restaurants and also a supermarket which was open 24 hours a day was also not far. One day I took a little hike with someone I met there and the hiking trail took about an hour for us and then we had a late breakfast and spent the day together. As mentioned above, I also walked around half the island and looked at the different beaches and it's a very special place and typically known for the crystal clear waters, which, however, is even more the case in some parts. There was also the possibility to make a day trip and here I booked a tour for just 700 baht where I visited 6 smaller islands nearby and also other attractions like snorkelling as well as food was included in the price and for this amount enormously much was offered and I did not regret it.

It is a perfect place to relax and after a few days on the island, I noticed how small everything is and you see the same people again and again and that's exactly what I liked, which is why it's of course even easier to start conversations with other visitors or locals. Especially the flair on the island is unique and everything seemed very familiar and I also talked much with locals and it is one of the places that you quickly long for because there is such a good quality of life and everything is just fantastically beautiful. Even if I first wanted to visit another island like Ko Samui or Phuket, I was very satisfied with the choice in the end and fortunately could still enjoy the island feeling at the end of my trip and I am happy if I can also motivate others to travel to this great country or even the same island!
Many thanks for stopping by and I hope you could learn something new and like my post and appreciate my effort! I captured these pictures with my Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm and iPhone 16.

Happy you have added this amazing place :)
It's great to have the hotel in front of the sea... This island as you say has less culture stuff than other places, but it has a lot of nature value! Look the beautiful landscapes
