[ENG - ESP] Visiting La Olla, Lara, Venezuela 💚🏔️✨
I have mentioned before, and several times, that traveling is one of the things I love most in life💗 Getting to know new places, or revisiting places you love, seems to me something extremely wonderful. Best of all, I share this idea with my family, and, for that reason, we are always planning different long trips or short outings during the year. We have a promise that we can't let a year go by without visiting some place✨
The trip I am going to tell you about was made a year ago, it was a short, one day trip, but we ended up with the tiredness of a week. A beautiful place without any doubt, but that, honestly, I would not visit again😅 So let me tell you about my family trip to "La Olla"🌿
Ya he mencionado anteriormente, y varias veces, que viajar es una de las cosas que más amo en la vida💗 Conocer nuevos lugares, o volver a visitar sitios que te encantan, me parece algo sumamente maravilloso. Lo mejor de todo es que esta idea la comparto con mi familia, y, por esa razón, siempre estamos planificando diferentes viajes largos o paseos cortos durante el año. Tenemos la promesa de que no podemos dejar pasar un año sin visitar algún lugar✨
El viaje que les voy a comentar lo realizamos hace un año, fue algo corto, un paseo de un día, pero terminamos con el cansancio de una semana. Un lugar hermoso sin ninguna duda, pero que, sinceramente, no volvería a visitar😅 Así que permítanme comentarles mi paseo familiar hacia "La Olla"🌿
This tour was found by my mother on Instagram. At that time the trips to this place were very famous, and we were all excited to know it, especially because it is in the state where we live, and, it is sad that we have not known in depth all the beautiful corners that Lara State offers 💜 We invited some family friends, and so we created a large group, because traveling is even nicer when you have someone to share the experience with.
La olla is the name of a small waterfall hidden among the mountains of Lara. If you like hiking and being in contact with nature, then this is a dream destination. However, there is a great detail, the difficulty of the tour is quite high, since you must walk several kilometers to reach the place, approximately between 3 to 5 hours😅
Este paseo lo encontró mi madre en Instagram. En ese momento eran muy famosos los viajes hacía este lugar, y todos estábamos emocionados por conocerlo, especialmente porque está en el Estado donde vivimos, y, es triste que no hemos conocido a profundidad todas los rincones hermosos que ofrece el Estado Lara💜 Invitamos a algunos amigos de la familia, y así creamos un grupo numeroso, porque viajar es aún más lindo cuando tienes con quién compartir la experiencia.
La olla es el nombre de una pequeña cascada oculta entre las montañas de Lara. Si te gusta el senderismo y estar en contacto con la naturaleza, entonces es un destino soñado. Sin embargo, hay un gran detalle, la dificultad del recorrido es bastante alto, dado que debes caminar varios kilómetros para llegar al lugar, aproximadamente entre 3 a 5 horas😅
Vehicles can only reach the beginning of the trail, so everything must be done on foot. At the beginning the road is flat, you come across train tracks (which are in operation), and you feel the freshness of nature. Then, little by little, the road begins to ascend, and there begins the difficulty. The hard part is not walking several hours, it is doing it only in climbs. It is quite exhausting, even if you are in good physical condition.
The scenery is wonderful, and no one can deny it. You are surrounded by vegetation from beginning to end, and you feel like you are disconnected from the real world. At the time we did this trip we were finishing quarantine, so it was wonderful to be able to get out and breathe fresh air✨ About an hour walking you come across a house that is equipped to sell tourists what they need to continue with the road, also, there you can make a stop to regain strength, extremely necessary!
Los vehículos solo pueden llegar hasta el principio del recorrido, por lo tanto, todo se debe realizar caminando. En el inicio el camino es plano, te encuentras con vías del tren (que está en funcionamiento), y sientes la frescura de la naturaleza. Luego, poco a poco, el camino comienza ascender, y allí comienza la dificultad. Lo difícil no es caminar varias horas, es hacerlo solo en subidas. Es bastante agotador, incluso si cuentas con una buena condición física.
El paisaje es maravilloso, y nadie puede negarlo. Te encuentras rodeado de vegetación de principio a fin, y sientes que te desconectas del mundo real. En el momento que hicimos este viaje estábamos terminando la cuarentena, así que fue maravilloso poder salir y respirar aire fresco✨ Alrededor de una hora caminando te encuentras con una casa que está equipada para vender a los turistas lo necesario para seguir con el camino, además, allí puedes hacer una parada para recuperar fuerzas, ¡sumamente necesario!

The last part of the trail is through a forest. My favorite part✨ The path is flat again, and there are only trees around, it feels incredibly quiet, and you only hear the streams and birds. However, the tour guide asked us all to stay close and pay close attention to where we were stepping, because after all, it was a forest, and in that part of the trail there were plenty of snakes, spiders, and other animals😅
In order not to get lost, since at this point the trail is no longer marked, we had to follow the creek. On the way you will find other waterfalls and wells to bathe -or to rest-, also with parts that you must hold on very well to the branches of the trees, because you can slip. But this last stretch lasts very little, maybe an hour. And after so much walking, the vegetation gives way to La Olla💚.
La última parte del camino es a través de un bosque. Mi parte favorita✨ El camino vuelve a ser plano, y solo hay árboles alrededor, se siente una tranquilidad increíble, y solo se escucha los riachuelos y los pájaros. Sin embargo, el guía del tour nos pidió mantenernos todos cerca y prestar mucha atención en dónde pisabamos, porque después de todo, era un bosque, y en esa parte del recorrido abundaban serpientes, arañas, y otros animales😅
Para no perdernos, dado que en este punto el camino ya no está marcado, debíamos seguir la quebrada. En el camino te encuentras con otras cascadas y pozos para bañarse -o para descansar-, también con partes que debes sujetarte muy bien a las ramas de los árboles, porque puedes resbalarte. Pero este último trecho dura muy poco, quizás una hora. Y después de tanto caminar, la vegetación da paso al balneario de La Olla💚

The place is magical. I'm not complaining about the beautiful view I found when we finally arrived. But I was so exhausted that the first thing I did was to lie down on a rock😅 After eating and drinking enough water, I could enjoy La Olla. Technically, the water falls from a rocky structure, which is hollow inside, so it forms a small cave where everyone can enter since the water level is not so deep here.
However, the well is deep, and I couldn't go all the way in because I can't swim (😭), but at the same time, I don't think I would have done it, since the water is too cold for my taste, so I just stayed on the shore. It feels peaceful, you can close your eyes and forget everything for a moment. There were several puppies in the place, and obviously, I spent some time playing with them.
El lugar es mágico. No me quejo de la hermosa vista que encontré cuando, finalmente, llegamos. Pero estaba tan agotada que lo primero que hice fue recostarme en una roca😅 Después de comer y tomar bastante agua, sí pude disfrutar de La Olla. Técnicamente, el agua cae desde una estructura rocosa, que por dentro está hueca, así que forma una pequeña cueva en dónde pueden entrar todos ya que el nivel del agua no es tan profundo aquí.
Sin embargo, el pozo sí es profundo, y no pude recorrerlo en su totalidad porque no sé nadar (😭), pero a la vez, no creo que lo hubiera hecho, dado a qué el agua es muy fría para mí gusto, así que solo me quedé en la orilla. Se siente paz, puedes cerrar los ojos y olvidar todo por un momento. En el lugar habían varios perritos, y obviamente, me quedé un buen rato jugando con ellos.

But, be very careful. Don't forget that it is a completely free place in nature. I had two encounters, not at all pleasant, with spiders bigger than my hand. One was inside the cave, everything was dark and I was very close to touching it if my sister did not warn me of its presence. The second one was at the water's edge, and I literally sat next to it. They were the color of rocks, so I did not see them😭
The sad thing is that we didn't last long in La Olla, really, it was only about an hour. I already mentioned that it can take between 3 to 5 hours to get there, so on the way back it's the same. In the end it's about 6 to 10 hours walking. But I was glad I got to know a new place, which was totally unknown to me, I knew of its existence a few months before the trip. So, even though I ended up completely exhausted, I'm glad I had that adventure ♥️
Pero, tengan mucho cuidado. No olviden que es un lugar completamente libre en la naturaleza. Tuve dos encuentros, para nada agradable, con unas arañas más grandes que mi mano. Una estaba dentro de la cueva, todo estaba oscuro y estuve muy cerca de tocarla si mi hermana no me advierte de su presencia. La segunda estaba en las orillas del agua, y literalmente, me senté a su lado. Eran del color de las rocas, así que no las ví😭
Lo triste es que no duramos mucho tiempo en La Olla, de verdad, solo fue como una hora. Ya mencioné que puedes tardar entre 3 a 5 horas para llegar allí, así que en el recorrido de vuelta es igual. Al final son como 6 a 10 horas caminando. Pero me alegró haber conocido un nuevo lugar, que era totalmente desconocido para mí, conocí de su existencia unos pocos meses antes del viaje. Por lo tanto, aunque terminé completamente exhausta, me alegra haber tenido esa aventura ♥️
The way back was the hardest part. My sister and I had to stop several times, in the middle of nowhere, because we couldn't feel our legs. Even my sister's shoes broke. It was easier to throw myself on the ground and roll down the mountain 😂 However, my grandmother knew how to shine (as always), since despite her advanced age she did the whole route very calmly, and was even the one who motivated the others to continue. Everyone was in awe of her 💜
When we got back to the train tracks I felt I saw a light on the road. That meant it was all going to be over. I love hiking, but that experience was beyond me.
El camino de regreso fue lo más fuerte. Mi hermana y yo tuvimos que detenernos varias veces, en mitad de la nada, porque no sentíamos las piernas. Incluso a mi hermana se le rompió los zapatos. Era más fácil tirarme en el piso y bajar rodando la montaña 😂 Sin embargo, mi abuela supo cómo brillar (como siempre), dado que a pesar de su avanzada edad ella hizo todo el recorrido muy tranquila, e incluso era quien motivaba a los demás a seguir. Todos estaban maravillados con ella 💜
Cuando volvimos a llegar a las vías del tren siento que ví una luz en el camino. Eso significaba que ya todo iba a acabar. Adoro el senderismo, pero esa experiencia me superó.
To do this tour I recommend you to go with a group guide, who knows the place, because it's not easy to reach the destination. Likewise, it's very important to start the walk very early in the morning, because given all the walking and the distance from the place, it's not advisable to get caught in the evening there.
It is an extreme experience. It is not for everyone, you must be well prepared, both physically and mentally. And it is a ride that is even more enjoyable if you do it with a group of several people, with family and friends. That will make everything more fun, and together can support each other when someone wants to lie down on the side of the road, and stay there ✨
Para hacer este paseo les recomiendo ir con un grupo guía, que conozca el lugar, porque no es fácil llegar al destino. De igual manera, es muy importante comenzar el paseo desde muy temprano, porque dado a todo lo que se debe caminar, y lo lejos del lugar, no es recomendable que les agarre la tarde-noche allá.
Es una experiencia extrema. No está hecha para cualquier persona, deben ir bien preparados, tanto física como mentalmente. Y es un paseo que se disfruta aun más si lo realizas con un grupo de varias personas, con familia y amigos. Eso hará que todo sea más divertido, y entre todos podrán apoyarse cuando alguien quiera acostarse a un lado del camino, y quedarse allí ✨

You might be feeling physically tired, but surely you all will experinced mental peace and relaxation by going in the lap of nature. Nature has always been a great healer ..and the place is so amazing
It's true, possibly my body was exhausted, but I felt so calm, totally at peace. It was like being in a magical place, far away from the city ✨ And the place is very nice, totally hidden.
