A Rural Exploration of a House with a Tower

It feels like going back in time. And by this, I don't mean going back in times 100 or 200 years ago, but going back in time in my childhood.
When was the last time I went on an adventure like this? I remember enjoying exploring abandoned (and non abandoned) places during my teen years, but then, life is getting more and more serious, until the day when you stop exploring, because you don't have the time, and because you're getting better at finding excuses for not doing it.

So when me, myself and I bumped into this strange looking house, obviously deserted and abandoned for ages, I thought that this time,
maybe I could make an exception, and just explore the shit out of this house, until I had enough.

Ed: Let's go then...
Eddie: What?
Ed: "what" what?
Eddie: You just said "let's go then", who are you speaking to?
Ed: I guess to myself.

It all started a bit by accident yesterday when I found that water spring, and not too far from it, this peculiar house.

The first thing I thought is, "oh I want to buy the house! Give me your price good sir".
It's not even a sensible idea, because I don't have a pot of gold lying around, I don't see any "for sale" signs, and a second later I thought that I don't want to buy the house anymore. Eddie convinced me not to...

For full disclosure, I hesitated getting in, it's an abandoned house, yes, but I've also seen a lot of movies, this is probably the moment in the movie when someone is getting killed, abducted, or just discover a UFO hidden in the barn.

Classic!

IMG_20220215_112742_9.jpg

The main entrance was completely blocked with blackberry bushes, very thorny, and just nasty to go through. I bet if I go around, I could find a different way to get in.

That big barrel, I recognize it: It's a troll bath, they don't make them like this one anymore, now internet trolls just have to bath in smaller containers, and drinking the tears of their victims while moderating on Snopes and Quora.

Alright, so it looks pretty chilled.
Let's move forward

IMG_20220215_113002_0.jpg

IMG_20220215_112956_0.jpg

There was absolutely no sound. Not even the wind blowing through the roof, but for some reason I am trying to keep the level to the bare minimum.

Eddie: Shhhhh
Ed: Did you just make that sound?
Eddie: I don't know, but let's just keep whispering in a creepy way in case we bump into someone, that will make a good impression.

IMG_20220215_113007_8.jpg

IMG_20220215_113119_4.jpg

I walk very slowly through the corridor. It takes a while for my eyes to adapt to the lack of light, each steps I am becoming a bit more confident.

Ed: Why are we doing this already?
Edd: For glory...

The corridor splits into different rooms.

Room 1

IMG_20220215_113135_2.jpg

IMG_20220215_113153_0.jpg

Glad to see that there is a way out in case things go wrong.

VID_20220215_113214.gif

Though I wouldn't go too far as this exit is sealed, and thorny bushes have taken over the neighborhood.

IMG_20220215_113231_5.jpg

Room 2

Room 3

IMG_20220215_113456_8.jpg

Ed: This will be our living room.
Eddie: I like the way the light irradiate the...
Edd: Shhhhh! Did you hear that?

IMG_20220215_113509_8.jpg

Edd, Eddie and Ed walk up the stairs...

IMG_20220215_113545_8.jpg

VID_20220215_113738.gif

I take each steps very carefully, because the stairs don't look safe at all, they cracking under my 185 lbs of stiff muscles. 😙

IMG_20220215_113612_2.jpg

I think we've seen enough right? I don't need to go all the way up?

IMG_20220215_113604_9.jpg

IMG_20220215_113703_0.jpg

There is no way I can walk on that floor without me going through it and end up on the ground floor.
That would make a great post though: "How I broke my two legs and crawled back to my car".

IMG_20220215_113656_8.jpg

After a hard day of work, it was time to go home now, I've seen enough, there's probably more to explore, but I also keep on thinking of the warm hot chocolate waiting for me at home.

Ed: For all time's sake, guys!

Ed, Edd & Eddie proceed now to walk slowly, and silently through the dark, dirty corridor.

VID_20220215_113910.gif

IMG_20220215_113944_9.jpg

IMG_20220215_114033_7.jpg

Goodbye Room 1, Room 2, and even you bloody creepy Room 3, and all the other rooms that I didn't mention.
A day ago, I didn't even know you existed Abandoned House with Tower, and now you're out there, on the blockchain, until someone one day say "Hey that's nana's house, what happened to nana by the way?".

@edprivat mayday! Someone's doing Urban Explores with your account.

Troll baths were nice. Back when you didn't have to go far to find the little bastages.

I didn't dude.

I didn't dude.

I didn't dude.

If you're talking about the community I posted in, you're the only one talking about it. If there's a "real life event starring a teenager" community I would've posted there and then copy/paste a link, invite a friend, post it at noon on Thursday and bla bla bla bla bla. I never know where to post dude.

Communities didn't do anything but confuse the shit out of me.

#tags are the only thing that make sense to me. I've posted 20 posts in 20 communities to see if there's a difference or if anyone noticed and had I not typed that sentence just now no one would've known I posted in 20 communities so what's the point?

It has its own wizard tower, I can see why you were thinking of buying it, though that would have been one hell of an expensive renovation project XD

You did good Eddy! See that dead body up on the rafters room 1 image 14!😱 Run Ed run!!🏃‍♂️💨💨💨💨🤣🤣 I used to take my bike out when I was a kid out in the country, and explore. We found an old one room school house that had partially burned, but still had some pics and letters scattered around. I'm surprised there's still a roof. L'état d'habitude enlève les toits pour éviter des squatteurs sick bastards! Where should they squat!?🤯 I think this could be made up nice and cosy!😍👻🏡💞😅

AAAAAAAHHHHH! 😄

No way!!! Maybe the house still belong to someone, I could see tires marks on the floor.
There was a few matresses up there, but I wouldn't sleep there, even if I was a squatteuuuuuuur.

Yes, in the South-East of France they rip up the roofs so that squatters can't squat. I could sleep there!😅 If I can sleep with a crackhead under a bridge, I can sleep anywhere😝

I'm no longer with the crackhead and got away from the dealers across the bridge. I was taken in by a very kind Mexican lady. I'm waiting to recuperate my stuff from the American chick that threw me out. Then I could look for classes as she's got my laptop with my cv grrrr😖 I'm pretty cosy pour l'instant but I don't wanna overstay my welcome nor abuse of their kindness😅

Nice looking spot for a picnic, plenty of broken boards for a fire to roast some marshmallows. The troll bath looks like the perfect place for a romantic meeting.

Should we get it on TripAdvisor?

I can see if it's possible to book it for the weekend, but the place is always so crowded.

They might let us rent the second floor but it's more expensive.

Nice adventure! I haven't done anything like that since I was a kid either.

The videos somehow make it seem more creepy than the photos. I think it's the slow peeking around corners lol.

Yeah man, be careful on those stairs. A broken bone post might be interesting for your followers but I don't know if it would be worth it for you lol.

Hahah thanks, "adventure" indeed. I agree with you, that was the goal, to have those short clips looking creepy af.

I also realizing using the shitty phone instead of the good one, it's a bit pixelized and add that 90s horror movie setting.

Yeah man, be careful on those stairs. A broken bone post might be interesting for your followers but I don't know if it would be worth it for you lol.

My first thought, and it will testify how well adjusted I am, would be to have a combined show of my broken bone and your cooking skills, you could make a nice Osso Bucco?

Haha, I love the ending.

I think you did a great job with the pictures 🙂

That 'tower' part is interesting. We don't have that kind of architecture here. Or at least I'm not aware of it.

Hahah lol happy you liked the pics and the ending, someone is reading the text! Don't read the text!!

Yeah I agree, it's quite rate to see old tower like that, I am thinking that it must have been renovated a few times, because it looks like it's made of different stones.

Phew. So I'm not the only one that explores abandoned old houses and renovates them in my wildly energetic imagination. Except for the creepy side of your french monologue this was a brilliant read. So what DID happen to Nana? Did she also break her legs and never make it to the car?

Let's not speak about nana anymore, she owes me money 😃

Except for the creepy side of your french monologue this was a brilliant read

The monologue is Edd's favorite part!

So I'm not the only one that explores abandoned old houses and renovates them in my wildly energetic imagination

Especially at the moment, even just a barren land just makes my imagination work wildly.

So I don't know if you've heard, but apparently people in SA are buying mountains, so if you hear of anyone that is selling one, I need one at least [ ----------- ] that big.

The Urbex King himself 😊

The only way I get used to it, is by speaking to myself out loud 😁

Yeah will do, and maybe some sort of equipment, because I feel like there were more to explore.

the day when you stop exploring, because you don't have the time, and because you're getting better at finding excuses for not doing it.

I was thinking that exact thing this morning. Sometimes I think we have all these ridiculous projects at home as n excuse not to leave the house.

Loved the dialogue..hilarious. That looks like an awesome place to do up, btw, we would have said same thing. Another project to stop us having time to explore.

I am glad you enjoyed the dialog hahaha, it's pretty much what's going in my head at the time.

That looks like an awesome place to do up, btw, we would have said same thing. Another project to stop us having time to explore.

Time!!! I need some!!!

That's the thing at the moment. Everything that I am doing, my most valuable currency isn't money but time. I am always thinking "how long is it gonna take?".

For example with the growing in the garden right now, I keep on thinking of how long it's gonna take to grow and if it's even worth starting growing cause we are travelling around and not here to attend to it. Ya know what I mean?
