After Our Rice Harvest: Now It's Time for Egg Harvesting in the Countryside

Hello everyone! One of the things I love about living in the province is that every season brings a different kind of beauty. Now that we finished harvesting our rice, our rice field looks completely different. Instead of seeing golden rice plants, you'll now see my father-in-law's ducks happily taking over the field!

Every morning, he turns on the water pump so the ducks can enjoy their own little "swimming pool." It's honestly so fun to watch them. The moment the water starts flowing, they all rush toward it, flapping their wings, splashing around, and acting like they're at a resort!

While they're enjoying their bath, they're also busy eating the leftover rice grains scattered around the field after harvest. Nothing goes to waste here in the province, and I love seeing how nature works.

Another part of my morning that I always look forward to is collecting duck eggs with my daughter. The funny thing is, she's usually more excited than I am! As soon as she wakes up, she grabs her little basket and says it's time to look for eggs.

Because we have so many ducks, I only let her collect eggs in one specific area. I don't want her accidentally stepping on the hidden eggs while running around. The ducks for our egg business stay in another area, so it's much easier for me to collect those myself.

I love watching her do this simple activity because she's having so much fun without even realizing she's learning. She's becoming responsible, waking up early without me forcing her, and appreciating the simple joys of our everyday life. Honestly, I couldn't ask for more.

Of course, not every morning is the same. Some days we find only a few eggs, and there are even days when we don't find any at all. That's just part of raising ducks. They don't follow our schedule!

Thankfully, this month has been a blessing because we've been collecting lots of eggs. Every basket feels like a small reward for all the care we give our ducks.

These simple mornings may not seem exciting to everyone, but to me, they're some of the happiest moments of my day. Watching the ducks happily splash in the water, hearing my daughter's laughter as she proudly carries her basket of eggs, and enjoying the peaceful farm life remind me that happiness doesn't always come from big things. Sometimes, it's found in the simplest moments right outside our home.

Wow! She is learning at her very young age. I Love Balot sissy from duck eggs. Not only me likes Balot but my daughters too. Balot is very good for the health especially for making the immune system strong. Happiness is when you love what you have in simple things around you. Yet their is more valuable than happiness and that was joy. Joy is from within while happiness is from the outside. Wishing more eggs from your DUCKS, that way your daughter have more to pick.

Thank you, sis! Yes, I’m happy she’s learning to appreciate blessing at a young age. I also love balut with spicy sinamakan. I agree with you sis, joy comes from within and that’s what I want my daughter to grow up with. 😍
