The oil & Pastel stages of my painting "Lady with a Vixen"

I've been working on the final layers of my piece I shared in sketch and watercolor form previously

I've been focusing on the head and shoulders of the piece this week, as I like to take it in chunks that feels like it is in itself, a complete painting (that is even without the fox in)

In case you didn't see my previous post here is the gif with the sketch and watercolor layers.

A close detail of what I've been doing:

You can see how I like to build up at this state with colour and shape.

To me using more 'bold' colour in a painterly more traditional portrait painter style is just fun. I like to see the shapes of cold, like the fluorescent pink pinks and glowing blues of her eye and floral headband as well as the stark contrast of orangey reds of hair to skin with blue tones.

I'm currently trying to decide how I shall have my finished pieces. I will most likely have the sketched/watercoler version either as items on things, that is graphic design it to sell as prints and also on things from clothing to housewares, to stickers and the like.

I think the final oil piece, when done with vixen and all, might be a one off #NFT on Makersplace . I'm also wondering if the sketch phase, made animated with new colours and added pattern design, might not make a fun #nft on #nftshowrooms We shall see. I'm still considering doing some 'still' images for the showrooms as well, as I had intended to up my NFT game this year.

I hope all are doing well and can find a moment in their day to engage in your passion, whatever that might be and remember to stay creative!

This is hauntingly gorgeous. I love her face in particular. This piece is taking on a dreamy feel. I think the red of the hair could be a bit bolder in highlights or lowlights to accentuate the curls a little more. Just my two cents though! Keep up the great work. This is looking lovely.

I agree I'll be going in with more detail as I build up, next I'll work on the fox and dress and then go over it all with more detail most like :) Thanks for the advice @castleberry

That's coming up nice!

I wonder what universe she's looking into though.

She might have that inclination to slip in and out of realities, one often wonders when watching the news, if one has done so... :) @ryivhnn
