Better Days!

Better days are something many yearn for in these times. In life we always seem to want more and are never truly satisfied with where we are and what we have until there is a threat of losing it. It is then we learn to appreciate the now.

A few weeks ago I found out I lost my job ( Ends April 2022). There are two ways I could take this situation, be grateful for the job that was and look forward to better days or resent the employer and play the victim. The truth is I have always been grateful for my job and acted accordingly. Why did I lose my job? Well, the entire employee class was terminated due to "reassessment of needs" aka not enough money to go around in the new budget. Note: We were all employed through the government.

The truth is I’ve been hoping to be fired as I am not one to quit. The 1 1/2 hour drive to work in the mornings and 2 hours in the afternoon to get back is taking its toll. I’m not a morning person or one who likes to hit the sack early. Also, situations like this jolt you out of your comfort zone and makes you unleash the beast. It is all in perfect timing.

The good thing about people like you and I, we have been setting up webs across the digital world. Whether it be through crypto, websites, blogging, yield farming, trading, music, NFTs etc. In more developed nations, it may be riskier to fall back on these fields, but we are more at an advantage compared to those who only know Web 2.0.

Being in Web 3.0 is like being at the top of a mountain ⛰ and knowing what is coming while many are still at the path toward the foot of the hill. The thing is, many at the top of the hill still don’t know what they are seeing in the distance and many cannot believe what they are seeing.

At this moment I am uninspired to look for another job in the same field. As a matter of fact, I am uninspired to go and work for anyone not knowing the day or the hour when you can be let go. But having a family kind of smacks you back into reality.

Where art thou FAITH

This is the major key I have been working on. Building my faith through reading and taking inspired action. These days I am inspired to understand trading more, create music, create the perfect jerk chicken recipe and of course blogging. I have also been doing some Google Skill Shop courses. Maybe what I should be learning as well is how to code on HIVE as finding a good dev isn't easy as they are mainly busy with their own projects or working as devs in companies. One thing is for sure, to stay stagnant is not an option.

I am not sure what I will do come April, but I know that God will give me the inspiration to do what needs to be done to uplift my life and the life of those around me. If it is one thing I have learnt it is that action from a place of lack, worry and fear never turns out well. I have also learnt that our creator, life, the infinite intelligence, whatever you chose to call this power that makes the world turn, always has a plan as well as perfect timing.

What would I like to do? I am trying to come up with a clear vision, which is confusing as I like to do so many things. But let me let just type below what flows.

• Creating and spreading my music in a new way utilizing blockcian; NFTs & Defi, while bringing value to the community.

I really like being at the cutting edge of the latest technology and creating music is something I enjoy doing. I'd like to create a crytpo strategy that many other musicians can follow. And doing it in a way that lifts up Reggaejahm and HIVE.

• Trading & Investing
  Trading is very interesting to me as well and it is something I can do at home, on the go and I get to learn about all these new projects coming to life, investing in them and hopefully profiting based on calculated decisions. It is also a way to understand your emotions, to see where discipline is needed, a strong test of your faith and learning about human psychology.

• IRIE876 Café & Grill
  2 to 3 times a month I'd like to have a pop up café and grill at events or stand alone locations selling Jerk Chicken. I don't think now is the time to start an actual store and doing it a few times a month will give me the feel of if it is something I'd really like to peruse.

• IRIE876.Com
  Start selling Jamaican goods again on a higher level in terms of distribution as well as retail. And the IRIE876 café and grill would be a way to market the brand and offerings as well as get feedback and networking.

• Teach Part-time
  This last one, hmm not sure how I feel about it but if I could teach one or two medium size classes a week (10-15 students), I'd do it for the socialization, entertainment, networking and keeping up with the mind of Japan.

LOL well 😄 still not clear! All I know is unlike the old car and house in this post, I will see better days, as a matter of fact the days have never been bad come to think of it.

Here is a song and album I came across over the weekend while taking my youngest out for a walk. It is a newly released album from The Mighty Diamonds titled The Lost Album Of The 90s.

The song I featured here today is titled Better Days and I believe it is the lead single from the album. well, that is how I see it in my mind as it is the song that first caught my attention and I have had it on repeat a few times. It puts me in an uplifting, conscious and faith driven mind set. AHHH The power of REAL REGGAE MUSIC, Ejoy!.
