Here is the link where I mentioned it: https://ecency.com/hive-180569/@dlizara/eng-or-esp-sweet-temptation-f6af4369e7455, I learned to make several sweets and today I bring you one of them a delicious recipe it is the coconut kisses, traditional sweets in Holy Week in my country, Venezuela and what else to start with this dessert this Palm Sunday at the beginning of the major week.

Without further ado, here are the ingredients and the step-by-step:

-450 grams of panela de papelón
-2 teaspoon of sweet aniseed
-5 cloves
-2 cinnamon sticks
-4 cups of water
-60 grams of vegetable shortening
-2 eggs
-4 cups of wheat flour
-1 tablespoon baking powder
-1 teaspoon baking soda
-1 teaspoon cinnamon powder
-1 coconut
-Salt to taste

𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝕊𝕖𝕡𝕥 𝕓𝕪 𝕤𝕥𝕖𝕡:

  • TTo begin the preparation of the melado, place the papelón, cloves, cinnamon sticks, sweet anise seeds and water in a pot. Heat the pot over medium heat and allow the ingredients to integrate and the papelón to disintegrate completely until it bubbles. Then, set aside.

  • Add the vegetable shortening, stir and until it melts in the melted, let stand.

  • Next, we extract the water from the coconut, remove the shell and extract the pulp. Then, grate the pulp on the thin side of the grater.

  • Once the necessary time has elapsed for the syrup to rest and come to room temperature, strain it and add the eggs. Mix very well with the help of a wooden paddle until they are completely incorporated.

  • Add the baking powder and the sifted salt : integrate, stir and mix.

  • We also add the sifted cinnamon and baking soda.

  • Next, we add the previously sifted wheat flour. We stir very well with the help of a paddle until all the ingredients are integrated and the mixture becomes completely homogeneous.

  • Finally, to give flavor to our delicious kisses, we add the grated coconut and mix.

  • We turn on the oven at 180º C, grease the tray and proceed to place the portions of dough with the help of the wooden paddle to shape our coconut kisses.

  • We put it in the oven for approximately 25 minutes.

  • We remove our coconut kisses from the oven and let them rest.

    • We serve and enjoy this Palm Sunday with these delicious coconut kisses.
    • A thousand blessings.
