MY WORST EXPERIENCE WITH HOSPITALS

Hello my fellow hivers! I hope you all having an amazing day

Hmm, reading this topic and having to writ about it is actually making me emotional, i have written a post on it before but I’m going to be writing more about it. Last year was one the most stressful year I had, I went through alot emotionally, physically and health wise. On the 13th day in the month June 2022, I had a very terrible accident, I have never been admitted in the hospital before and that was my first time. I didn’t even know how to react, I was devastated, depressed and very sad.

Infact this topic is obviously and was meant for me, on that particular day, I travelled to school because I wasn’t done with my clearance from school, so i went but I couldn’t even finish what I went there to do, so I decided to come back, I got back home, then my sister-in-law called me to come to the shop, I had my bath, made food and headed out, I entered a bike and left, while I was getting close to the shop, the road was full of tankers because there is an open land that the tankers go in to park, so this particular one was going to park, and the bike I entered was at the left hand side of the tanker, I was on the phone and I didn’t really notice anything, the only thing I remembered was that the bike man was trying to dodge some people and the tanker and the next think i saw was my self on the floor, the tanker had crushed my left thigh, and I was just screaming helplessly in the floor.

My food had spilled on the floor, my phone flew to one corner and slippers too, my brother who was coming from work met the scene, he begged a passer by to help him carry me, they both carried me inside a tricycle and rushed me to the general hospital, when we got there, the nurses started arguing about who was going to carry me inside the emergency room, there was no stretcher or wheelchair available, my brother finally carried him inside, they started ordering us to buy things that they would use, they said we should buy cotton wool, and some other things, they cleaned my leg a little, wrapped it with bandage, gave me an injection and finally told us that there was no doctor available, they to refered us to another general hospital which was very far away, we went to another hospital, a navy hospital for that matter, they said there was no doctor too and they to refer us again.

All this while i was in serious pains, finally we were directed to one hospital, I spent exactly one month in that hospital, no proper care, mosquitoes everywhere, they were not even giving me good drugs, I was in that hospital and were still buying drugs from outside, they have to wash bandages that has been used, most times we used our own money to buy bandages and many other stuffs too.

It was the most worst experience I have ever had in my entire life, I wouldn’t even wish my enemy to experience what I passed through.

THANKS FOR READING ✨

A worst experience indeed. Why would a hospital not have doctors around to attend to patient? That's absurb mehn.... that is one hell of a situation in our country. Playing with patient's life and not acting fast to attend to them and giving them proper care. Why then is it called an hospital? Many lives are lost due to doctors and nurses' negligence. Thank God nothing happened but got healed.

When I got to the part of "they had to wash bandages" I got shocked o. Haaa, that was the height of it all . I'm happy you recovered from the leg injury. Mosquitoes in the hospital are five and six.

It's really not easy getting treatments in Nigeria hospitals ... It's getting worst as day goes by actually.

Doctors are reducing on a daily basis without replacement... My classmates are already writing exams to go outside and once we graduate, a lot of persons will just zoom off coupled with thousands that left already

It's sad honestly

The Nigerian health system is in shambles, doctors are leaving because the government doesn’t pay well

Damn! This was very traumatizing, even for me reading it. What kind of hospital orders people to go buy cotton wool? So they don't have something as basic as cotton wool? What a pity, it's truly a worst experience
