There are events that occur in life that we never plan for, yet they happen unexpectedly - these are often referred to as unforeseen circumstances. Some of these unforeseen circumstances come at a time we least expect them to happen. You will still feel the shock or effect no matter how you prepare for unforeseen circumstances.

There are people who lose their jobs in a blink of an eye, there are people who lose their loved ones in a shocking manner and there are times when you prepare to attend a meeting or seminar that you get a call just few minutes to the start of the event that it has been called due to unforseen circumstances. In other words, when you experience something that you didn't expect to happen at a particular time it is referred to as unforeseen circumstances.

These unexpected situations and circumstances can occur at anytime in anyone's life without prior notice. Well, that is the reason it is called unexpected. It usually creeps in like a thief in the night when you are less likely to react. Life is full of ups and downs - sometimes things go as we expect and sometimes it is the other way around when we have little or no control over it. However, we should be ready to handle it effectively anytime and any day.

On my way home from church this morning, I took a cab from church that is supposed to drop me off at the junction that leads to my house. But unfortunately we could not complete the trip together due to an unforeseen circumstance. So, what is the unforeseen circumstance?

When we got to a passengers bus stop the driver parked squarely for her to alight, and as he wanted to continue with the trip he realized that there was traffic on the main road. So, he tried to use a shortcut to bypass the traffic but the road he was trying to use was bad and can't be used.

Now, he needs to reverse and head back to use the main road. As he was reversing, he didn't pay attention to two cars that are for sale that were packed close to the road and that was how we all heard a loud noise. He hit the cars and badly damaged their front. Everyone in the cab had to rush out to see for themselves and before you know it the owners of the car had stormed the driver.

To cut the long story short, the driver will have to pay for the damages. This is an expenses that he didn't plan for. I felt pity for him because he is not a commercial driver but a private car owner who only wanted to use his car to make extra income during the weekend. Now, he will have to use all the money he collected from passengers and even more from his purse to foot the bills. This kind of situation can be very painful and difficult to handle because he definitely had other plans for the money. Sadly, such is life.

Sometimes unforeseen events does not even have to be this serious. It may be as simple as mistakenly breaking the cup that you just used in drinking water or mistakenly burning your dress while ironing. I'm not sure anyone will intentionally break his or cup or burn his or her outfit. They happen unexpectedly.

In all of this we should learn to handle these issues with a cool head so that the issue will not get more difficult.
