"Boh Rorom" coffee flavored cake
A collaboration of sugar cake that I add coffee jam in it.
Boh Rorom
Boh rorom is the name of a cake made from glutinous rice flour with a green color covered with pandan leaves, the green that is visible on this cake is due to the shape of the color of the pandan leaf and coated with coconut which is sliced into small pieces using traditional tools, then baked. Filled with sweet Java sugar jam and coffee flavorings that I collaborated with.
Before I share the recipe for making this boh rorom cake, it's good to first see the shape of this boh rorom cake, it is round in shape and sprinkled with coconut slices with sweet Java sugar and coffee seasoning in it, here is the recipe. Pay attention to the shape of the cake. Boh rorom that I shot using my smartphone camera :

The initial stage needs to be prepared 1 kg of glutinous rice flour that I bought in the market, this glutinous flour has been wrapped in several forms, some weighing 1 kg and some 2 kg, then I pour it into this blue plastic container, this glutinous flour material is made of rice sticky rice which we call a mixture of wheat flour that has been processed into flour for cake dough.
Next is Javanese sugar, this Javanese sugar is raw material from fermented sugar cane, sugar cane which is processed from the starch water then the sugar cane juice is dried for a few days, so that it is in the shape of a circle like this, I bought it at the Indonesian traditional market, which is in selling for $0.25 per piece. Then I cut it into small cubes the size of a dice, even though it wasn't in the shape of a square, it could also be cut into the shape of a moon the size of a corn kernel.
Next is an old coconut that has been split and sliced like this, this is the coconut of choice that I also bought at the traditional market, all have been shaped and sliced by the seller in the market, I only have to pay for it at a price of $ 0.25 dollars / coconut.
Then prepare 1 cup of ground coffee which is given warm water and milk in it so that it is colored like this caramel, then stirred as shown in the photo that I show.
Stir until it thickens according to the needs of the cake you want to make, on this occasion I made this boh rorom cake with a size of 1 kg of wheat flour, so you only need a cup of coffee to make the coffee taste better.
After the ingredients are ready, eat the flour that has been provided with enough water to make the dough in the picture below, it looks like green and soft, usually this green color is given food coloring, but I only give pandan leaves so it looks green , and also smells very good.
After this dough is finished, the next step is to make as many circles as possible according to the amount provided, like I made with 1 kg. After the circle is made, the contents of the jam that have been made are given, namely brown sugar and coffee jam, which have been made according to the size of the dough circle.
After everything is rounded, the next step is to heat the water until it boils as shown in the photo below, after the water is hot enough then enter the dough ball into the heated water, it is necessary to understand a little trick so that the dough does not stick, enter the dough balls spaced and have a 10 second interval so that the dough that goes into the water does not stick.
After 5 minutes, the cooked dough will float by itself, if it floats like this it can be lifted and transferred to a container containing the sliced coconut, this process can be seen in the photo I share below.
It feels like the temperature is starting to get a little cold and not hot then the cooked dough is stirred with coconut until evenly distributed throughout the dough, if it is not allowed to cool then the jam will leak and the sugar will be visible from the outside of the dough and brownish, from the photo below looks so tempting and tempting, this cake is one of my favorite cakes after donuts. 🍩😉
Euummmmmm..
it tastes so good and delicious, the taste of sugar and coffee is so delicious, I tried to eat some Boh rorom Cakes for me to enjoy, what keeps me eating is the taste of the coffee which is so delicious and sweet, I tried to show the bite on this cake with the appearance of the jam filling , uuuum tasty

We have this cake in Malaysia. It is very sweet.
That's right, maybe there are Indonesians who were made and adopted by the residents there 😁🙏☕
