Hoy es miércoles y aunque las supersticiones aluden a qué este es el día más atravesado de la semana, por lo menos en las tradiciones cubanas, yo lo tomo como otro día cualquiera y salgo a dar un paseo, y selecciono un lugar bastante exótico muy cerca de mi casa.

Aunque he estado en este sitio después de que un emprendedor de nueva era lo convirtió en el centro recreativo privado que es hoy, no me deja de sorprender cierta belleza del entorno que atrae por ahora a gran parte de la población de este municipio tanto de día como de noche y a veces las madrugadas.

Ahora este lugar se conoce como "el tanque" y está enclavado en una pequeña colina en la parte norte del poblado cabecera. Lo que se considera el punto natural más alto de la geografía urbana.

Pero antes de describirles el lugar tal como está ahora, haré un poquito de historia.

Se trata de una vivienda tipo chalet. Construida a principio del siglo pasado en las propiedades de la familia Tejeros cuya vivienda está aún hoy en la esquina de las calles Martí y capitán Mariano y tirando para la parte rural, y todavía mantiene bien conservada la estructura general de chalet como en el origen.

El también chalet de Ciro fue construido con un objetivo de sanación, pues, Ciro caso con una joven de los Tejeros que padecía de problemas pulmonares y necesitaba aire puro y humedad, para lo que el padre ordenó construir la morada en el punto más elevado, y para más, sobre un tanque de agua con poderosa pared circular. Este lugar se ha convertido en el de más preferencia para la juventud, y además ha creado oportunidades para los niños con una noche de viernes recreativa y para los adultos con una tarde noche romántica.

Ya el recinto cuenta además de la estructura central, áreas de cafetería. Piscina y área bailable dónde contrata a artistas de todos los niveles, dónde cuentan cantantes como Jaila Monpie y humoristas de la talla de Limai Blanco

El emporio de "el flaco" pronto trascendió en el argot popular como" el tanque", porque así se nombró a la pequeña discoteca del lugar para lo que se le perforó una puerta en la inmensa pared de casi un metro de ancho al envase gigante que antaño abastecía de agua a la mayor parte del poblado cabecera.

La estancia también tiene una huerta de frutales que llega hasta la cerca colindante con la acera de la calle Martí y un pasillo enrejado que lleva al visitante desde el asfalto de la carretera hasta la escalinata del hermoso chalet, que ahora cuenta con un pequeño mirador sobre la parte central del techo que cubre la entrada de la vivienda.
