The former national attorney general, Jesus Murillo Karam, was arrested, the judge in charge of investigating the fate of the 43 desaparacidos students in Ayotzinapa in 2014 but who filed everything. Together with him, 64 soldiers, policemen and hitmen of a drug trafficking cartel were also arrested.
The arrests took place the day after the publication of the report of the investigative commission on the Ayotzinapa massacre which speaks of a state crime, that is, the kidnapping and murder of students by drug traffickers but with the complicity of justice and forces of the order.

Ayotzinapa's case was a state crime, as all federal, state and municipal authorities were informed of what was happening on the night of September 26, 2014 without intervening to prevent the disappearance and murder of the 43 students of the Raúl Isidro Burgos Normal School in Ayotzinapa, Guerrero, said the Undersecretary for Human Rights of the Interior, Alejandro Encinas, on the occasion of the presentation of the report of the Commission for Truth and Access to Justice on the Ayotzinapa case.

Almost eight years after the events, Encinas stressed to the parents of the students that the disappearance of their children was covered up at the highest levels, since the authorities of the three levels of government knew in real time of the picking up of trucks, of the transfer of students in Iguala, their arrival at the Rancho del Cura and the Iguala bus station, their arrival at the bus station, the persecution and violence they were victims of ”by the Guerreros Unidos cartel.

The judge arrested, Murillo Karam in 2015 closed the investigation by stating the so-called "Historical Truth", which was rejected and rejected by the families of the 43 students who disappeared into thin air on the night between 26 and September 27, 2014 in the state of Guerrero after booking buses to participate in a demonstration in Mexico City.

From what emerged from the subsequent investigations, the students were arrested by corrupt policemen and handed over to the local organized crime of the cartel defined as "Guerreros Unidos" which, for reasons not fully understood, would have killed them and made the corpses disappear by burning them in a landfill. Only the remains of three of them were found and identified.

All those arrested, including former Attorney General Murillo Karam, are accused of collusion with organized crime, kidnapping, torture, murder and obstruction of justice. The 'Historical Truth' of 2015 allegedly omitted the responsibility of corrupt military and other public institutions, which was instead ascertained by the "Ayatzinapa Truth Commission", set up by the current Mexican president, Andrés Manuel Lopez Obrador, and led by the Undersecretary for the Interior, Alejandro Encinas.
