The Tale of "They Taught Me in School"

So guys, I just remembered something that really made me laugh so hard sometimes ago and I have decided to share it with you guys today. Despite how funny it was, it still had lessons to learn from it.

It happened during the last holiday when schools were on on a long vacation. Most parents didn't want their children to just sit at home and play all through so some of them had to enrol their children for a computer training. Among these children that enrolled for the training was a young boy we nicknamed 'They taught me in School.' Guys, little did we know that this nickname would become a source of endless laughter and unexpected lessons around the office.

So, here's the deal

This boy was the self-proclaimed digital expert. He would confidently declare that his school had taught him everything he needed to know about a computer; every computer skill, every trick and he claimed he had it all down. Obviously, we were curious to see this genius in action.

So reality hit hard when it was time for practical tasks. This our self proclaimed digital wizard found himself lost. Can you imagine that this young boy was confidently sitting in front of the computer, ready to show off those 'school-taught' skills but when he was asked to do something as basic as copying and pasting, he looked lost? Guys, It was like the keyboard and mouse were speaking a language he didn't just understand.

You need to see the laughter that followed. Trust me, it was infectious. Everybody in the office that day bursted into laughter. The poor kid, with a sheepish smile admitted defeat with a the excuse that he had forgotten that part. For real??.. How could he forget something as simple as copy and paste? Smh..

And there it was guys, a catchphrase was born. They taught me in school became a name this young boy was known as and it echoed through out the office everyday.

But despite the initial stumbles, this young boy refused to admit he doesn't know it. Every day brought new challenges, and every challenge brought a fresh round of laughter. Finally, after the laughter was becoming too much, I began to see this genuine eagerness in him to learn. He wanted to bridge the gap between what they taught him in school and the real-world demands of how the computer works.

And so, this young became a legend in our office, not because he was the expert he claimed to be, but because he embraced learning with enthusiasm. So, whenever he would say, "They taught me in school," we would reminisce about the laughter, the lessons, and the journey of turning a phrase into a story of humor and growth.

Whenever we reflect on this amusing chapter in our office's story, we always end up valuing its simple theme which is the journey of learning, the humility that accompanies growth, and the joy found in everyday laughter. This story is more than a comedy; it's a story that echoes the resilience within the human spirit and the beauty of embracing each step in the learning curve.

So, in our office where laughter is as common as the hum of computers, the story of this young boy remains a treasured memory. It serves as a reminder that in the pursuit of knowledge, some of the most valuable lessons come wrapped in laughter.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Hmm, the boy should have been humble enough to learn. There is always something new to learn in any teaching. Thank God he finally learnt

He doesn't know that there is a clear difference between theories and practicals. It's good that he finally realized that there's a gap between what he knows and reality, he didn't let his ego hinder him from learning

Exactly... Everything isn't all about theory.. Good a thing he realized that on time..

He doesn't understand that it's very easy to bake with mouth, but when it comes to the real deal, it's beyond theory. Maybe he knows that ctrl c is copy, but didn't know it's application. This theoretical aspect of teaching without any practical orientation in schools is affecting many people. I was a victim too, but I found my way fast, by learning on my own. I'm glad the boy became good at it, after realizing that he had fumbled. Learning never ends. It only ends when we are no more. Nice input.

This is a really great contribution to this post and I so much appreciate your contribution. Most people know that ctrl c is copy but applying it becomes so difficult.

It's always difficult learning it on your own but I am glad you were able to do so. Learning sure never ends and yes it only ends when we are no more.

Thanks for this once again.
