A Perfect New Year's Day Celebration

This year's New Year Day was not just a date on the calendar to me. It was not just about the fireworks and resolutions. It was all about the quiet contentment of being alive, the warmth of human connection, and the joy of shared moments with friends and family.

So my day began with a silent prayer, a whispered thank you to my God for the gift of life for me and my loved ones. I did some chores at home after that and I then embarked on a mission of New Year's wishes since I was in the mood to spread joy like a pollen on the breeze.

I visited 6 loved ones that day and I made sure my visitation was worth it. They all appreciated my visit and they didn't fail to feed me till my stomach was filled up. None of them wanted me to leave but I knew I had a target to meet before the end of the day so I just had to leave.

There was one last visit I had to make before the end of the day and that was a visit to my parents' house. Amidst the familiar faces and the comforting silence at my parent's house, I found a different kind of peace. I had no need for food, just the quiet contentment of being home, of basking in the familiar glow of love and belonging was enough for me but my mum insisted I must eat. I had to tell her to package the food so I would eat it when I get home which she did.

As I returned home, I felt so weak and tired, and just then, I realized that my day had been a masterpiece, a day filled with the vibrant colors of human connection. I actually visited six special people, and each of the encounter I had with them, strengthened my bond with them.

So guys, this New Year's Day wasn't just about witnessing 2024, it was about celebrating life, the precious, fragile gift of being alive and connected. This New Year's Day was a day that nourished my soul, and it made sure to remind me of the joy found in shared moments and the beauty of human connection.

I am sure going to carry the New Year's Day's energy with me as I step into the rest of the year. So here's to 2024, to life, and to the joy of being alive to witness it all. Honestly, my heart is full of gratitude and my spirit is sure brimming with hope, and I totally have this conviction that this year will be my best year yet.

Was it enjoyable?

2024 New Year's Day was a day that resonated with every fiber of my being and so, it was beyond enjoyable. This is a day I will cherish forever and trust me, it was not just about the food, the laughter, or the festivities, it was about the unspoken love, the intangible connections, and the quiet understanding that binds us together.

Was it just another day of the year?

In all sincerity, this new year was not just like another day of the year since it was a turning point, a fresh start, and a blank page in the story of my life. It was a day that reminded me that the people I love, the moments we share, and the simple joy of being alive is what truly matters.

Anything I would have liked to have that wasn't available?

Having little more time to enjoy each moment with my friends and loved ones would have been that thing I would have liked to have that was not available. I would have loved to have more time to laugh and gist with my loved ones and relax in the warmth of my family's love. But the truth remains that even without these extra seconds, my New year's day was complete. Believe me when I say it was indeed a perfect New Year's Day.
