Blue Lagoon

First thing that came to mind when viewing this picture was “blue lagoon”. Truth be told, this is not a lagoon, but a lake (but it sounds cool). Barrier Lake is its name. A lagoon would typically be found by an ocean or sea, this lake is nowhere’s near the ocean. This lake is located inside Kananaskis country, Alberta. Approximately ten minutes south of the trans Canada highway number 1, easily accessible, therefore a busy and popular place to visit. A gorgeous first leg of the Prairie view hike. The actual trailhead itself is located about fifteen minutes from this viewpoint. Due to the location of the lake, in relation to the surrounding mountains, this particular spot is quite windy. Much windier than the Prairie view summit actually, which does seem odd, but that is a fact.

Hi buddy.. you right, though! It really does look like a magnificent lagoon. I used to live in a small town called Langebaan (up the west coast of South Africa). Anythere, there is a spectacular lagoon as well. Huge, with shallow flats as well. Anyway, this looks dope! Is that a bicycle I spotted along the shoreline?
Yes, a bike. South Africa looks to be a cool place to travel to someday!
I thought so lol.. though wasn't 100% sure! South Africa is really awesome in terms of natural beauty. Alas.. crime, corruption, failing infrastructure (rolling blackouts, water problems..) and generally poor service delivery are very real problems. I'm blessed to live in the Western Cape - which as a whole seems (to me anyway) better run (due to the political landscape). But yeah.. if you are very careful, South Africa could be an amazing place to see!

'escape'disconnect, what's keeping you there?Truth mate.. the means (or rather lack thereof). I've kinda made a lot of bad choices in life. Never with bad intent, though. Usually when there was a fork in the road, with a left and a right.. well I'd pick one of them (and it wouldn't have the best outcome). Some years back, I suffered a really bad nervous breakdown (what led to that is probs a novel on it's own). Anyway, I lost most of the little bit I had and had to move back in with my folks (thanks to their kindness). Ever since then it's been a struggle with me just putting one foot in front of the other. I don't really fit with mankind as a whole. I see everything very differently to the masses. I'm kinda hoping that somehow my journey here could lead to something better. Perhaps very ambitious, but why not try.. That's a lot of me rambling now haha. In summary, I dream of one day being able to just escape to the middle of nowhere (with or without likeminded people, and then focus on my faith - which is where my true passion is). I'm grateful for your kind support mate - it's another step closer.. All the best my friend and take care.

The mountains side looks incredible and the water looks unreal, it's true beauty.
It almost seems that the picture of it looks prettier than the actual real life experience in some ways.
Maybe it's because of the edits you've added.

Friend @daveks, that first photo has a lot of magic, the way in which the tiny bicycle is seen in the lower left third, gives an additional comparative touch to understand the grandeur of this landscape... And that blue, it is a blue from other worlds!... I thought of some landscape from the Avatar movies! Thanks for sharing!
