This time I bring you my anecdotes of the trip I made with my family to the guacharo cave, in the state of Monagas, Venezuela. This is a natural monument that was visited by the naturalist Alejandro Von Humboldt in 1799 and was a place where several indigenous tribes of the area performed rituals typical of their cultures.

This natural monument is located in El Guácharo National Park, in the mountains of Monagas state, near the tourist town of Caripe, where a tropical mountain climate of approximately 20 °, is very pleasant, where it provokes walking through the gardens outside the cave, where there are some street vendors who sell some typical sweets of the area, handmade coffee, which is grown in the region, fresh fruits and vegetables, strawberries with cream are the specialty of the area, also some come selling handmade liquors, the most sought after is the rose liqueur, made from red rose petals, which has an extraordinary flavor.

The attraction of the park is that there are guides that take people in groups into the cave to see all the rock formations that have taken thousands of years to form, among them are the stalactites, rocks that hang from the ceiling and create different shapes to which the guides have names according to the figures they have or reflect, there are also the stalagmites that are also rock formations, but these are born from the ground and also have spectacular shapes, The guides help each other by means of lamps to enter the cave, because out of respect for the fauna that lives inside the cave, it is not allowed to carry private lights or take pictures, because the flashes bother the animals that inhabit the gallery, especially the guácharos, which are nocturnal birds, They are similar to bats, they use echolocation, they eat fruits, they leave the cave at night to look for food and return before the sun rises, to see the colony leave the cave at dusk is a spectacle, you can also hear them when you enter the cave, only in the first gallery, in the second gallery, It is the part of the cave where the noises of the guácharos are not heard, also as it is so far inside the gallery you can't see any sunlight, it is a spectacle to see how the stone columns shine as if they had thousands of diamonds, it is because of the amount of mineral crystals they have, Also in this section there is almost no human intervention as in the previous gallery that there are even walkways for visitors, in total the experience of the visit to the Guácharo cave, is something very particular, because for some it is very exciting and for others it is terrifying, so much so that they do not finish the tour.

This National Park also offers other attractions, because there is a waterfall called "la paila" which is also another very nice walk, among the vegetation, have walkways and reach the waterfall, its waters are very cold temperature ee, I say they are icy, but it is quite enjoyable the way; there is also the Grotto of the Virgin, which lately has been a bit neglected, including religious images that are there have been mistreated, but the climb is worth it, because the views are very beautiful and you can take some nice pictures; There is also the Alejandro Von Humboldt museum where they show some of the things that can be seen inside the cave, this is mostly for people who do not like to go inside the cave, but want to see what is inside, plus there are reviews of each of the samples, it is quite interesting to see, read and learn about the nature of the area.

On the esplanade in front of the cave, there is a park-like plaza with paths and recreational areas where you can sit and observe many species of flora of the region, including bell trees, orchids, ferns and other beautiful trees and flowers that are a pleasure to see.
