Breathtaking Marayantong Camping and some Serene Stories

Starting story without introduction;
Our journey started from Panthapath bus counter at 11:30 pm on 20th September.
The light of the night is shining on the road, the car is moving at its own speed, the silence of the night is all around, the heart is full of various thoughts. How enjoyable the next two days will be! I didn't even notice when I closed my eyes.
The next day at 9 am we reached Chakriya.

Our trip plan was a total of three nights and two days.
On the first day, we thought that we would visit Dimpahar, the highest road in Bangladesh via Thanchi-Alikadam Road and set off for Marayan Tong in the afternoon.
I went ahead as planned. Planning a big tour is vital.
After eating and taking a bath, we set off for Marayon Thong.
Our main trek begins at 12:30 p.m.
"Safar Sakhat Mushkil, Bahudur Manzil" (hindi)

We have to go far. Before sunset, you have to reach the summit of Marayon Tong, which is more than one and a half thousand feet high. The beginning of the path was quite good. But as soon as we did not go half way, our condition started getting worse.

Sloping path, which only rises upwards. Didn't land anywhere. The tongue is about to come out. Once I thought I would go down. But since it was a victory expedition, I had the courage to go upstairs with a light rest. In this way we finally reached the path. I wanted to see the sunset from the top. After about two hours of trekking, just after the Maghrib Azan, I reached the top of the hill.

Camping with only Four people on the top of such a hill seemed like an adventure.

‘Maraya Thong’, ‘Marayon Thong’, ‘Meraithong’ have different names for this hill. As soon as you reach the top, the first thing that catches your eye is a huge jadi. Jadi means Buddha idol made for the worship of Buddhists. The jadi is made in such a way that it is as if he is thinking about the mystery of some distant nature and a smile appears on his lips. Open around Jadir and run upwards.
The upper part of the hill is flat. From here you can see only hills and mountains. The settlements are peeking through the gaps. The river Matamuhuri is flowing down like a snake. Crop fields can be seen on its two shores. This hill is inhabited by various small ethnic groups. Tripura, Marma and Murang are among them.
At the bottom of the hill are small Marma ethnic groups. And in the folds of the hill there is the neighborhood of Murang. They make their home on the slopes of the mountains. Their tanghar is a little above the ground. Under these houses live various cattle such as cows, goats, pigs and chickens. Sometimes, besides the cattle, the necessary fuel wood is also kept in piles.
In the afternoon when the sun was sleeping on the hillside, we saw a unique form of nature. The mountain seemed to be carefully and gently hiding the sun in its shadow. The soft light of the afternoon and the sweet atmosphere of the red sky of the evening are deeply embracing everyone on the top of the hill. The surroundings are getting stagnant and at the top we are feeling everything very deeply. We are enjoying the grace of nature again after seeing the violent form of nature from very close.
After some time the darkness came closer. Then the clouds began to settle around the hill. Clouds softer than cotton were blooming so beautifully, we were gradually overwhelmed. And then no one wanted to take pictures. Just wanted to enjoy. The unbearable cold at night can only be removed by campfire.

An amiable scene of well-arranged stars in the night sky gradually made us forget all the hard work, horror, fatigue and filth of the day. I opened the roof of the tent and looked at the sky and wanted one thing again and again, not to be in the morning!
That night was quite nice. Clear black sky, there were billions of stars all over the sky. Since there was no light pollution, I saw so many stars in the sky, it seemed as if there was a fair of stars.

And the night was passing as soon as I saw this fair. As the night draws to a close, let us learn a little about this mountain.
Marayon Tong is a hill in the Mirinja Range in Alikadam, Bandarban. Many people call this hill by different names. Such as: Marayandong, Marayon Thong, Meraithong etc., but the place named Marayantong is set on Google Map. It is about 1840/60 feet above sea level. From here you can see only hills and mountains. They get lost again by peeking from behind the clouds from time to time.

There are small houses of the adivasis in the vicinity, some of them are riding pigs, some of them are working in the fields with clouds on their bodies. The scenes are really captivating ,,,,,

(I's waiting for a morning like that)
We reached the summit just before dawn. After a while the sun rose and then the real beauty of Marayon Tung came out.

(It’s crazy 😌)

The clouds had been shuffling around for so long, that as soon as the sun rose it seemed as if they had arranged themselves in a new pattern.

It was as if the merciful God had spread a blanket of clouds all around. After watching the clouds play for a long time like this, we started descending again.
It rains a lot on the way down. Due to which the road was very slippery. We had to get down very carefully. In the end, it seemed that getting down was more difficult than getting up.
We got down and came back to Alikadam Abasik.
How to get to Marayon Tong:
You have to get on the bus going to Cox's Bazar from any part of the country and get off at Chakaria. From there you have to come to Alikadam by bus jeep or CNG. If you go by car, the fare will be 60 Tk, and if you reserve a jeep, the cost will be 1200 to 1500 Tk. One jeep can seat 12/13 people. You have to take an autorickshaw from Alikadam to a place called Awasik. Rent 20 Tk.
If you go to the residence and ask anyone, Marayon Tung will show you the way. There is only one road. After walking for two and a half hours along this road you will reach Marayong Tong Jadi. It is the highest mountain in Alikadam. This hill is also known as Marayan Dong and Meraithong.
Where will you stay:
There are no hotels or resorts to stay in Marayantang. So you have to be camping. Necessary things like camping should be taken along with the tent. If the tent is not of good quality, keep it with raincoat or polythene to protect it from rain.

So water has to be taken from the plane.
