Hey Lovelies! ❤️

Well, I didn’t get to post this yesterday as planned so here I am sharing with you my latest project.

Mostly what I’ve been crocheting lately has been inspired by our homeschool co-op. I’ve been making small pieces of decor for our sign-in tables. It’s been really nice seeing the students enjoying the display.

Once the Fall season was over I knew I wanted to make something for Winter. At first I thought about making crocheted gingerbread cookie friends but then I came across this snowman pattern. I knew at first sight I was going to make them. 😄

I set out to make at least six so that there could be a pair of snowmen to put on each of our front tables. Making these took up more of my time than I expected and caused me to settle for just two.

The hat and scarf are my own pattern. I have never made a set this small before and let me say it was so much fun. The hats came together so fast and adding on the pom pom at the end was the cherry on top.

I did think about sewing the hat and scarf onto the snowmen to prevent them from falling off but it just seemed more fun knowing they could be removed and maybe even switched around.

I’m starting to notice that I enjoy smaller projects a lot more these days as my free time continues to dwindle. I rarely look at bigger projects now because I know it would take forever to actually finish them. And of course we all know that finishing quick projects gives us that feeling of accomplishment.

You’ll notice that the snowman with the pink set is slightly more elongated and seems to have a different pattern in the middle. Well I got off on the stitch count and she was beginning to look too small. I had to add in an extra row of increases and it threw off the unity of the stitches.

It may look as if I used two different yarns for her hat and scarf but that’s not so. I used a gradient yarn! I was hoping to still get some of the light pink on the scarf so it would look more uniform but it didn’t work out that way.

Sometimes I cheat and try to go to a certain color of the yarn in order to get the shade I’m looking for. That means I wind the yarn into a ball and cut it when I get to that color.

I really took a liking to this second one. I didn’t make any stitch mistakes on him (at least that I’m aware of 😝) and I like his size and height. Surprisingly, even though pink is my favorite color I love the blue set more.

That yarn is so soft and easy to work with. For this set the hat was a darker shade than the scarf. You probably can’t tell unless you look close enough.

I was happy to use safety eyes as they are so easy to snap on. I’d normally use button like ones that require sewing so these really saved me some time.

The nose took literally a few minutes to make and slightly stuff.

In the end I was satisfied with the snowmen being different sizes and having their own individual look.

Another thing is I didn’t miss the traditional buttons. I could have easily added some to their bellies or even added beads to make mouths for them but I really love the simplicity of this pattern. I feel the hat and scarf was all the accessory they needed. 😌

I hope you enjoyed meeting my snowman friends! I especially hope they put a smile on your face. Here’s the free pattern link if you’re curious.

Next on the list is a rush for Valentine’s crafts. I’m going to try to crochet little bags to put sweet treats in. I’ll be sure to post that on Monday if I achieve it and share who they went to!

All photos are my own and were taken with our Cannon EOS Rebel T6.

Thank You!

Very cute. You don't really need the buttons, they look cute like this.

The safety eyes look great. It hasn't been easy for me to use them, I have to figure out where to place them and sometimes I fail.

These dolls will be the highlight of your registration tables. Best regards.

Saludos.

Thanks @creacioneslelys, I agree about the buttons. I think they look cozy enough in their hat and scarf set :)

I think it depends on which ones you get too. I’ve seen reviews online for some safety eyes that are very hard to deal with. I took a chance on the ones I ordered (there were no reviews) and thankfully they work well. The pattern instructs exactly where (which row and how many spaces in between each one) to place them.

I always love your comments and visits. Thank you dear ~ 💖

Adorable snowman and snowwoman!! I will have to check out the pattern above. I am thinking of future gran-babies and that would make a cute hug-able doll, too. So many projects.....so little time. :-)

Yay so glad you like them Katty! Yes, I think from now on I will stick to using the safety eyes. They are so easy and look more neat than what I was using.

Thanks for the lovely comment ~ 💜

Adorable! Your crochet skills never cease to amaze me. If you were closer I may just need to be a homeschooler and join the lessons

Aww thanks sweet friend! I would so enjoy teaching crocheting to you.

I hope to one day (when I have more time which means when my kids are older...or wait will I even get more time then? 😂) to be able to create my own patterns too.

Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet comment ~ 💖

Oh my goodness, they are so cute! 🥰 I really need to dust off my crochet hooks! I’ve had a little dabble with a woodturning lathe, snowmen seem to be a great starting point as the shape is quite simple to do (she says, nervously trying not to cut off her own arm with a wood chisel 🤣) It’s great to see you again! It’s been a while since I have been able to get on with being a single mum now and still having lol the bulldogs to care for and running my own business, it has been a rough few years. But hopefully I can push myself a little harder and get back to blogging again. After all, who else is going to rant about bad bulldog breeding and post cute puppy pics hehe
Much love, C and the bulldogs xx
