I'm pretty pleased how things went yesterday despite having minimum betting action as lines generally continue to be razor sharp. 4 More matches on Sunday with many of th top teams playing each other so it should be interesting.
AA Gent vs Club Brugge
Both teams managed to qualify for Europe in the mid week with AA Gent having to make a trip to the hot Cyprus while Club Brugge didn't have to travel. Right now I see Club Brugge as the better and more reliable team in their performance while AA Gent still has some highs and lows needing to count on their excellent strikers to make the difference as goals always tend to come out of nowhere which is one of their strenghts. So for me I see Club Brugge as the small favorite and I took early bets of 0.326 units on
Club Brugge +0.25 @ 1.850 and 0.074 units on
Club Brugge @ 2.850. Both are high on expected goals and it would be a surprise to see this end in a 0-0. I do expect both teams to go their chance and play for the win so it should be an interesting match. By now, Club Brugge moved to be the small favorite which is about right.
Union vs Antwerp
Union continue to amaze and they only really had 1 off match this season at home against Mechelen. They qualified for the Europa League with another good performance and at this point there is not much reason to have major doubts even though the have an entirely new team. Antwerp had a day extra rest after they managed to qualify for the Champions League in Greece where it was quite hot and they also lost one of their most important players in Alderweireld who is out with a shoulder injury. This leaves them with a very young backline which is a big question mark. Generally, Antwerp also hasn't been that impressive so I understand that they are the small underdog today. Honestly, I'm not sure what to expect from this one an I will go in with a clear mind seeing how it plays out.
No pre-Game Bets
Genk vs Anderlecht
So Genk after 3 Qualifier round and Penalties away against Demirspor after 145 Minutes of play in hot conditions managed to qualify for Europe but the way it all played out these past weeks says enough. While they have the potential for sure, they haven't been at 100% yet and they also just miss a scoring striker. I would be surprised if fatigue was no issue at some point today against Anderlecht who despite not playing that great have been on a 4-game winning streak. The major advantage they have is that they played no mid-week match while the team has been improving over the weeks with many new players. Just based on these things I took a 0.204 unit pre-game bet on
Anderlecht +0.5 @ 1.990 & 0.096 units on
Anderlecht 1st Half +0.25 @ 1.850 mostly because I anticipated a move given the fatigue which hasn't come so far. So I will remain open to possibly trade out of this bet if needed.
Charleroi vs Sint-Truiden
Charleroi has yet to take a win with 2 losses and 3 draws so far but haven't really looked like a team that will be in trouble. Mostly they are just an annoying team to watch due to their defensive style and they have difficulties scoring goals. Stvv has been one of the revelations this season with very fresh play and a willingness to go forward. Their main issue however is scoring power with just 4 goals scored. Charleroi surprisingly played more forward out of spite of their coach who formerly coached Anderlecht and was seen as a too defensive coach. I do see this as one of those matches where they should go their chance and play forward so I don't expect a match that is totally locked. The main problem with the over is the actual scoring power of both these teams. I do have a lean on the corners over but not enough to actually pull the trigger yet. Most likely I will wait a minute live and go with the higets odds bet available on the corners over as these teams regularly had really high corners matches with 14+.
