I came down sick yesterday to the point where I couldn't make a preview during the day as I just stayed in bed. I did however manage to watch the match from my coach and even got a couple of bets in which produced some profit. Right now, I'm already fully recovered so time to have a go at the 3 Saturday matches...

Standard vs OH Leuven

Standard with just 1 point clear of the play-downs is in a tricky situation. They haven't managed to win a match in their last 9 league matches with a recent draw away against RWDM and a home loss against Antwerp despite being the better team. If anything is clear is that they really miss Alzate when he is out. He should play today and I overall don't see Standard as that bad of a team their results indicate recently. However, they are also the -0.5 favorite which is quite a lot for a team that hasn't won in their last 9 games and who don't have an easy time to score goals. OHL is 1 place and 1 point behind Standard but they are without a loss in their last 5 matches including 2 recent wins against Westerlo and Genk. Both in matches where the opponent mainly had the ball and where they played well organised. Everything combined, not a macth I'm really willing to get involved in before seeing more first as I see the odds are correct where they are now. No Pre-Game Bets

Union SG vs Westerlo

Union had somewhat of and an off-day during the midweek against Club Brugge but still came away with a result that leaves everything open. They do have an upcoming match in Europe on Thursday but I do expect the A-Squad to start. Westerlo had a couple good performances which got them out of the immediate danger zone but they did lose 0-3 against OHL last weekend and in a similar match against Club Brugge away 3-0. Generally, they are a team willing to play which should make this an entertaining match. They have some questionable key players with Reynolds and Madsen. If anything, I do see them capable of scoring a goal today and I took 0.25 units on Westerlo Team Total Over 0.5 @ 1.873 along with 0.05 units on Union To Win & Both To Score @ 2.877. Union continues to be a force but at the same time hasn't been the clean sheet team while Westerlo ranks 4th in xG over the last 3 matches with an average of 1.76. The over also remains an option in-game.

Club Brugge vs Eupen

Club Brugge is missing a ton of players for this match with no Vanaken, Vetlesen, Zinckernagel, Thiago, Onyendika while de Cuyper is still questionable. This leaves them with a semi-B-Squad in the midfield and the offense. So the main question is how they will hold up with so many changes and mostly without Vanaken. It's not really and option to bet them pre-game at a -1.75 handicap in this situation before getting some confirmation. The question mainly is if it's worth taking the risk ok Eupen. They remain a relegation team who went downhill after a good season start. They now are 2nd last coming of 1-0 losses against Mechelen and Charleroi and performances that at best were mediocre. I do expect Eupen to crawl back trying to keep Club Brugge from scoring but with mainly Olsen it should be a matter of time before Club Brugge breaks the lock unless the missings show too much.
