The Elves Graced The Party
The Elves Graced The Party
Tobi is a boy who loves celebrating Christmas. He told his friend who he wishes to get married to what their relationship holds ahead of them. He told Mariah about his love for her and the love he wished to have for her. Tobi and Mariah decided to organize their marriage and fixed the date for their marriage. Tobi went straight with some of his family members to pick a date after agreeing with his upcoming wife.
Elder Martins is a family member and uncle to Tobi. He called the elders to come together to arrange the marriage rights. He called Tobi's parents to arrange seats and take a tent as he is going to call the family members together. Tobi's parents did as elder Martins instructed because Elder Martins is doing what they are supposed to do. When it was evening, every one of Tobi's family members gathered together and fixed a date for the introduction. They all took a convenient date that suited everyone seated. They fixed September 24th and indeed, they all left for the introduction when it was the day.
Mariah truly loves Tobi to the fullest. Mr and Mrs Park, who happened to be Mariah's parents, were very happy as they had seen Martins before and saw him as the best husband and the best match for their daughter. As culture demands, they have to set a fixed date for marriage during this period which Martins was asked for and indeed he gave them the date. Being a Christmas lover, he selected December 24th which happened to be Christmas Eve. Everyone was happy as it was a perfect day and the best selection but one of the family members to Tobi, Mr Patel stood up to object to this date. He said that the date he gave is not the best as, during this period, the elves always come around to disturb. He further explained that according to what he heard back in the days, the elves always bring bad luck to people and do not want bad luck to follow his boy, Martins. They were all considering what Mr Patel said, but Tobi told the house that he loves seeing the elves. They bring good luck to me because I don't profess bad luck to myself, Tobi replied.
Bisi is a guy who also has feelings for Mariah but was not given a chance. Mariah has never for once felt love for him just because of the way he always behaves. Bisi always carries himself so high and always has the mind of pride. Mariah on the other hand has told Tobi about Bisi and what he has for her. Did you love him? Tobi asked Mariah. I have nothing to do with Bisi. He is too proud and never wants to listen to anyone. He is someone who will beat his wife because I have experienced him. Mariah responded. The only person I have ever loved is you and you alone.
Preparations were going on and Tobi printed invitation cards to invite his friends and family members to his wedding ceremony. It's the Christmas season and everywhere was filled with the aroma of Christmas. The elves came to Martins' town as usual. They were those types that are small in making which can fly. Among them are females and males. Many people believe that they get bad luck when they come around while some people just like Tobi say they have good luck as they do not believe in bad luck.
When Tobi was on his way to Mariah's house, one of the elves was following him and talking to him as he was also replying. I heard your wedding fell on the 24th of December. We are going to grace the party and make everyone happy, one of the elves told Tobi. Don't worry, just try to invite every one of you to grace my marriage ceremony as I will give everyone gifts.
It was the D-Day, December 24th and Christmas was in the air and everyone was preparing for the marriage and the wedding ceremony. The elves came around during the preparation and many people were somehow afraid of these creatures which had wings. They were believed to bring curses but brought happiness into the household of Tobi. The ceremony went on and Mariah and Tobi got married successfully. They were able to accept the elves and everyone was made to accept them.
Bisi on the other hand could not do anything or say anything. He just kept mute as he was so shocked after seeing Mariah's wedding which happened to be successful. This taught him a lesson to change his character from being proud.
The elves kept on coming whenever it was Christmas. The first place they always land is Tobi's house. Although, they were not. created to live among the living, rather were made to come during the festive periods.
Elder Martins was very much excited to see the end of this marriage.

I really enjoyed this and you have a great story here :) However it would have been even better if you told part of it through the characters, by having them talk :) For example, have Tobi propose, and Mariah accept :) Give us some insight into Bisi's jealousy and plotting, perhaps?
Still, very well done ❤️

You are right. I should have done that. I will consider that factor next time.

A marriage that respects tradition and a couple that truly love each other. This, plus happy elves makes for a successful future, and a pleasing Christmas story.
I do like happy endings :)
You made love look really beautiful in your story. I enjoyed reading this.
A happy story... and Bisi must change his ways or spend life wanting things he cannot have and chasing away potential brides.
You are right. This is why we must remove pride out of our ways and focus on how to make our lives better. Bisi was filled with pride and could not get hold to the one he loves.
May the marriage be successful. I never knew anything about elves nor it coming during the festive periods. Thanks for throwing light on it from this post.
