We climbed a mountain! It was hot, hot, hot!

6km (approx. 3.7mi) took us 2 1/2 hours. Why? Well, there was a tad bit of elevation (500+ metres) AND it was on technical single track AND it was almost 30'C and humid as f*ck! Hahaha.

But we had fun. And we weren't the only ones huffing and puffing our way up and carefully picking our way down this "mountain" on this steamy Sunday. There were small groups ahead of us and a heap behind us. Thankfully, all groups were spread out well enough that Brad (new.things) and I managed to walk most of that 2 1/2 hours on our own. (Useful for wee breaks!)

Mt Edwards in is the Moogerah Peaks National Park in the Scenic Rim area. It is one of a big handful of peaks we've been working our way through (ticking them off). Brad took a gazillion photos today so there will be a post on his wall within a day or two or five ;)

This is a topographic map (digital) from the Strava app, taken from Brad's phone because I accidentally stopped my watch for several hundred metres on the way down so mine isn't accurate.

One of our famous shoe shots, taken by Brad, on his phone, on the trail. While the terrain changed from dirt, to small rocks and big rocks and rock slabs, from occasionally flat to step enough to require my hands on my knees to step up, this shot is a reasonable example of what we were walking on a lot.

A final, brilliant photo by Brad; the two ants I saw fighting in my peripheral vision as I hugged the tree they were on. I was busy trying to get grounded again after feeling overwhelmed by something I was thinking about (hence my arms around a tree) while soaking in the view from the top of Mt Edward. It was super fun to see these two little guys and get completely absorbed, like a small child, in their interaction.

I just finished a 6.0km walking that lasted about 2hh:30mm:0ss !

So, it sounds fun except for the humidity and the ants!! Do those ants bite?

They probably do! I, thankfully, saw them before they were close enough for me to (accidentally) find out 😂
