Welcome again to another exciting episode of our weekly digest, which also happens to be the first for this month, even though some of the reports are from last month but still, would be reported this month and it's because that's how it should be. 😎

The next generation of solar energy collectors could be rocks

Rechargeable batteries such as those used in conjunction with solar panels help store energy from the sun in the form electrochemical activities, so that at night (when no sunlight) the energy stored in the battery can be used to power our various electrical gadgets. Batteries however are expensive to make and also expensive to buy, how about replacing batteries with rocks ? 😳
Rocks are almost everywhere, thus making it cheap. However, not all kinds of rock could achieve the purpose of storing the solar energy as expected but hold on a minute.....how would a rock be of any help in the first place ? 🤔

NASA talks UFOs with public ahead of final report on unidentified flying objects

For quite a long time now there have been claims of UFO (unidentified flying object) sightings or in simpler terms, strange objects in the sky that seem to defy our everyday experiences and current understanding of physics, for example, a moving aircraft suddenly becoming invisible or an aircraft that seems to be powered by some advanced tech yet to discovered here on our planet. Most of the time, they are believed to be doings of extraterrestrials (aliens) but i wonder why they would be doing things to escape detection on our planet ?
I guess i would leave that question to the conspiracy theorists. About a year ago NASA decided to take the matter seriously by investigating if such phenomenon were indeed of extraterrestrial origins and in this report, they've released their first report. Did you know what they discovered ?

Scientists' report world's first X-ray of a single atom

X-rays are among the electromagnetic waves with the smallest wavelength and for this, possesses high penetrating power. It's used in medical centers to scan the inside of our body and in airports to scan the inside of our luggages. In more advanced uses, it can be used to identify constituent materials in a composite material but it has limits. This limit is that the material has to be relatively big, you can't use it to scan a single atom or a molecule with less than about 10,000 atoms. In this report and for the first time, it's now possible to do so and this breakthrough has some interesting scientific and technological benefits of which you would have to find out for yourselves, by simply reading here

Why does my dog eat grass? And when is it not safe for them?

Until recently, didn't know dogs too eat grass. Those of us that have a dog, have you noticed it eating grass ?
I don't have a dog, how could i possibly know. I used to think it was a cow thing until i saw this report and it's quite an interesting finding. But why for heaven's sake would a dog be eating grass ?
Interesting question, there are many theories, including as a form of herbal medication for stomach disturbances. Wow, didn't know dogs too can become herbalists - just kidding. 😂
