My Long Anticipated London Adventure

(Edited)

I achieved one of my new year goals, I traveled to London!

I can't believe I actually made it and explored London for the first time. Despite living just under 100 Miles away from the capital it isn't cheap to travel to London with my cheapest train ticket costing £70 with returns and on A coach £18.50 with returns but by coach it is a 4-5 hour journey.

But finally, after saving up and getting time off work, it was time to go to London.

My day began early with waking up at 4 am and going to Norwich Bus station to catch the National Express coach that departs at 6:30 am. I arrived very early, giving me time to grab A coffee and A couple of snacks for my long 4+ hour journey. The coach pulled into the station 30 minutes before departure and the driver was very talkative and friendly to me and other passengers I was very surprised that there weren't many of us in total I counted around 9 people on the Bus. The bus departed on time and we began our journey into London briefly stopping at the University and Thetford to pick up A couple more passengers but even after that the Bus was only half full. The journey was very comfy I was surprised at the features that came with the Coach the seats had charging slots and air conditioning which was nice and the seats were very comfy.

Road works heading out of Norwich delayed us a bit which ultimately made us late for London by about 40 Minutes we first stopped at Stratford bus station but I and many others stayed on for London Victoria Station.

at around 11 am we arrived at the bus station, I was finally in London!

After getting off the Coach I headed straight to the London Underground to head back towards the Stratford area and explore the Westfield shopping center. They also had luggage drop off which was very handy as I couldn't check into my Travelodge hotel until 3 pm.

I went exploring A few shops not really looking for anything in particular but I found A Nike store and purchased some jogging bottoms as they were on the clearance shelf. it was mostly to waste time until check-in but I also found something cool to explore just outside of the shopping center and that was West Ham United Stadium London Stadium

I did a lot of walking around Olympic Park walking around the various arenas and the London Stadium where the Premier League side West Ham United play at

I stopped for food and spent the majority of the day here and at 3 pm I hopped back onto the tubes and this time ventured to the other side of London into Wembley central station where my hotel was located at.

It was the cheapest hotel available and I knew I would hardly be there so I didn't really care what is was like but it was very good and the bed was super comfy and overall the room was quite soundproof despite being next to an underground and surrounded by shops.

After checking in and dropping my luggage it was once again time to get on the tube and I headed into central London and stopped at my favorite restaurant ever and that is Hard Rock Cafe.

I am just obsessed with Hard Rock Cafe I love it and I wish my city or somewhere closer had A hard Rock cafe.

The food was excellent and there was even live music from a cool band playing which was very exciting. The restaurant featured a rock shop and so I purchased A t-shirt and A couple of pins/magnets that soon I will place on my wall at home.

After food, I did lots of walking around London briefly stopping at The British Library

I wrapped up the day heading to canary warth and did some activities in the Fairgame arcade and more walks around before hopping on the tube back to my hotel in Wembley.

I woke up early the next day and I decided to do a 20-minute walk to see Wembley Stadium.

I once again did lots of walking around the area taking in the sights and around 10 am took the bus back to the hotel and got ready to head into central London this time covenant gardens and the surrounding area.

I didn't spend too long in covent gardens as it was very busy and also pricey so I took A short walk to China town which I absolutely loved I grabbed some chicken and Noodles from A cafe and some bread cakes and spent quite a lot of time walking up and down admiring how amazing the area looked.

After leaving I headed to the place I wanted to see the most and that was Buckingham Palace.

I was taking in the atmosphere and sights when all of A sudden we heard loud helicopters, police sirens and people rushing over the road, A helicopter was descending and began to land right next to Buckingham Palace.

I wasn't sure what was happening but the helicopter landed and stayed for around 5 minutes before taking off again but that wasn't the end of it, for the next few moments another helicopter circled the palace a few times before A few Black cars and police bikes traveled around the roundabout and down the long road. I couldn't have times it any better I never expected any of this to happen I was just looking forward to seeing the Palace but this certainly made this A trip highlight.

After that, I walked around more towards the London Eye and Westminister.

This was my favourite day in London just taking in all the sights and exploring everywhere I could. I spent most of the evening doing the same till around 11 pm when I finally decided to go onto A tube back to the hotel.

I woke up Friday in A bad mood, I was sad because today was the day that I had to go home.

There was still so much to see and do but not enough time to get it done.

I spent My final day taking A trip to London Zoo as I received A voucher A few months ago from an activities guidebook. After the zoo, it was 4 PM and I decided before boarding my 8 pm coach I wanted to travel and quickly see the o2 arena and so I did, I had plans to explore and take photos but I totally forgot that comedian Micky Flanagan was performing that night and so it was very busy and I decided to head back to the coach station to collect my luggage I dropped off earlier that day and sadly board my Coach back to Norwich.

It was an amazing trip and very cool to explore London although I did most of the things I wanted and that fact I had the best time I am A little sad I missed out on A couple of things such as the Battersea area, the O2 area spending a little more time there and the river boat trips.

London is incredible I am excited to one day go again, till next time London :)

Thanks for reading.

There's always so much to do in London that two days isn't really enough. Hopefully you'll be able to make another trip again.

You packed a lot into a short time. I'm lucky it's a short train ride into London from here, so we go quite often. I'm not into shopping, but it can be fun to browse, especially in places where you can't afford anything :) London is great for walking as it's fairly compact and so you can see a lot of sights in a day.

I've worked around Wembley and Covent Garden, so I know those areas well. We also went to a few Olympics events, so we've been to the park around the stadium.

I hope you can go back some time to see more.

Yeah, I got quite a lot done it was very nice to do some walking especially with so many sights that are compacted together it was also very nice to walk along the bridge and the river.

The Olympic Park area was very good I really enjoyed the water fountains and various arenas which all had unique designs. on my next visit, I would like to explore the Battersea area which seems to have recently been redeveloped with A shopping mall and various big buildings.

Thanks, steevc will hope to go again soon.
