Walk to Castello beach and coastal path with two viewpoints. (ENG-ESP)

English

I hope you are having a happy Wednesday. Today, I am enjoying a few days of summer vacation, because all year I am traveling from one side of Spain to another for work reasons, in August I like to spend two weeks at home resting and enjoying nature.

After lunch and the traditional siesta that many Spaniards sleep, today I set out to walk a small route of 3 kilometers.

After crossing the N-634 road that passes in front of my house, I walked along a small asphalt road that leads to the beach of Castello. During the route one can find different single-family houses, where one of them stands out because its owners have a horseback riding business and some of these horses are usually grazing in the meadow in front of their house or in the one that is right next to it.

After this farm where the horses are, you will find a crossroads indicating the way to the beach of Castello. Right next to the signpost, one can find a field with apple trees for cider production and on the other side of the road a corn field owned by other neighbors who have cattle for milk production.

Once on the road heading to the beach, one will come across lush forests of trees such as pines, eucalyptus and chestnut trees until finally arriving at the parking lot of Castello beach.

One of the attractions of this area is that there is a small picnic area where you can take your sandwiches, empanadas or tortillas to share with friends or family. Today, being a day with a high probability of rain, there was no one in the picnic area.

Afterwards, once in the parking lot of the beach, go down to the beach through its stairs to the beach itself. It is a pebble beach with an extension of about 2 kilometers, being the longest beach in the council and one of the largest in western Asturias.

After a few minutes on the beach, I went back up the stairs and instead of returning to my house by the way I came down to the beach, I decided to go up a coastal path that has a large slope, but in turn allows to have a better view of the beach through its two viewpoints.

Once I reached the first viewpoint and after the initial effort, I took some pictures of the beach and sat a little on a bench in the viewpoint.

I then continued on my way and climbed up to the second viewpoint, passing by more corn fields. As a recommendation, at this time of year, I recommend doing the route during the day, because as you can see you can see the destruction of the fields caused by wild boars and it is not pleasant to meet a group of wild boars in the middle of the night.

Once I reached the second viewpoint, I could contemplate my favorite beach for the last time before returning along a road surrounded by corn fields.

Once I reached the area where the single-family houses are located, I turned again towards the road where the junction that leads back to the beach of Castello is located. I made this turn, to be able to show you one of the most cared orchards of the town. Where my neighbors take meticulous care of their lawn, their trees and have an orchard where you can currently see some large pumpkins that may possibly be food in a few weeks for the pigs they raise in their barn.

Once I arrived at the crossroads of the beach, at this point I decided to continue the road that goes to my house, and after crossing again the national road 634 I arrived at my house.

Best regards.

Thank you very much for your comment

Asturias which is my region is green. It is the little Ireland in Spain.

At the same time at 10km you can be in the mountains with multiple routes.
