Hello everyone in the Pinmapple community! Today I join here to share with you what my experience was getting to know the iconic Las Vegas sign, the one that welcomes and says goodbye to everyone who passes by located on the city's Strip. A special occasion because this poster is known worldwide and I never imagined being close to it. I must confess that I had been trying to go with my sister to that point for a long time (well clearly if I was in Nevada it was an obligation to go see the damn impossible sign), but between one thing and another, we ended up going almost to the end of my trip. The good thing about it is that I finally got to know him. Here I tell you a little about it, so join me!
The sign was designed by Betty Willis (originally from the state of Nevada) in 1959, with a characteristic style from the 1940s to 1960s which was used in almost all of the United States in businesses of all types: restaurants, gas stations. , parking lots, hotels, nightclubs, etc. This architectural aspect had a futuristic and energetic vision that combined geometric shapes (juxtaposed triangles, circles and squares), neon lights, intense colors (sometimes with pastel tones), the use of glass, metal and large letters, achieving a combination of elements that are interesting, happy and optimistic. The Las Vegas sign was in another location but was moved due to the expansion of the city.
My sister and i went to the place around 7:30 in the morning because it is a good time to take photographs taking advantage of the sunlight and its heat, since at that time the temperatures were between 5°C and 10°C. c. It is also convenient to know what time of day you want to go because depending on it the photography has a different result. It all depends on what you want to achieve. Plus, if you go early, you'll likely find fewer people lining up to take a photo. An important fact to keep in mind if you do not like to stand for several minutes in the middle of winter. Finally, in addition to knowing, contemplating and living the moment of being there, we all want a photograph in front of the large sign.
This was one of my last experiences visiting tourist attractions in Las Vegas. There are still some things to show but I will show them in the next posts. I wanted to comment that the sign not only welcomes but also says goodbye, but I didn't take a photo of the back due to a mistake. My sister and I had a good time despite the weather because we spent a long time there waiting for someone to take a photo of us together, also making some videos or just being there. ¡Hola a todos en la comunidad de Pinmapple! El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes lo que fue mí experiencia conociendo el icónico cartel de Las Vegas, ese que da la bienvenida y despide a todos quienes pasan por ubicado por el Strip de la ciudad. Una ocasión especial pues este cartel es conocido mundialmente y nunca imaginé estar cerca de el. Debo confesar que tenía mucho tiempo intentando ir con mí hermana a ese punto (pues claramente si estaba en Nevada era una obligación ir a ver el dichoso cartel imposible), pero entre una cosa y otra, terminamos yendo casi casi al final de mí viaje. Lo bueno del caso es que, por fin lo pude conocer. Aquí les cuento un poco sobre ello ¡así que acompáñame!
El cartel fue diseñado por Betty Willis (originaria del estado de Nevada) en el año 1959, contando con un estilo característico de las épocas de 1940 al 1960 el cual era utilizado en casi todos los Estados Unidos en comercios de todo tipo: restaurantes, gasolineras, parqueaderos, hoteles, boliches, etc. Este aspecto arquitectónico tenía una visión futurista y energética que combinaba formas geométricas (triángulos, círculos y cuadrados yuxtapuestas), luces de neón, colores intensos (a veces con tonos pasteles), el uso del vidrio, el metal y grandes letras, logrando una combinación de elementos que resulta interesante, alegre y optimista. El cartel de Las Vegas se encontraba en otra locación pero fue movido debido a la expansión de la ciudad.
Mí hermana y yo asistimos al lugar a eso de las 7:30 de la mañana porque es una buena hora para hacer fotografías aprovechando la luz del sol y su calor, pues para ese momento las temperaturas estaban entre los 5°C y los 10°C. También resulta conveniente saber que hora del día se desea ir pues dependiendo de ello la fotografía tiene un resultado diferente. Todo depende de lo que quieras lograr. Además de que si asistes temprano es probable que encuentres menos personas haciendo fila para tomarse una fotografía. Un dato importante a tener en cuenta sí no te gusta mantenerte en pie por varios minutos y en pleno invierno. Finalmente además de conocer, contemplar y vivir el momento de estar allí, todos deseamos una fotografía frente al gran cartel.
Esta fue una de mis últimas experiencias conociendo atractivos turísticos de Las Vegas. Aún quedan algunas cosas por mostrar pero ya las mostraré en las próximas publicaciones. Quería comentar que el cartel no solo da la bienvenida sino que también despedí, pero por despiste no le tomé una fotografía a la parte de atrás. Mí hermana y yo la pasamos bien a pesar del clima pues estuvimos un gran tiempo allí esperando que alguien nos tomara una fotografía juntas, también haciendo algunos videos o simplemente estando.
