Visitando "La Parrilla del Este": un reencuentro y una reflexión [ENG/ESP]
Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m stopping by to share a new day in my life with you all. This time, I want to tell you about the get-together we had today—Sunday—with my mom, me, and a family friend who’s practically another son. I have to admit that sometimes I even get jealous of how much she spoils him, hahaha. Just kidding, but yes, he’s someone very close to us, and the point is that on every one of my mom’s birthdays, he makes a point of celebrating the day with her. My stepdad and my sister were missing from this gathering, but my stepdad wasn’t feeling well, and my sister clearly couldn’t make it. So today I visited this place for the first time—it’s in Naguanagua, up past the Guaparo roundabout—and it’s called “La Parrilla del Este.”
I haven’t heard anything about Valencia in many years, though I’m sure this restaurant has been around for a long time. I didn’t know about it because it’s not the kind of place I usually go to, but it’s nice to discover it. The restaurant operates as a buffet and also like a Brazilian farofa restaurant, where they come directly to your table to offer you as many cuts of meat as you want. I wasn’t particularly hungry, so I helped myself to a small portion to enjoy a few pieces of meat. Jhonny has always had a hearty appetite, and by the way, he really likes Venezuelan food even though he’s from China. Let’s just say he prefers a good piece of meat and a cachapa to some of the typical dishes from his own country. That always surprises me because I really like Asian food. Anyway, the point is that my mom also enjoyed her meal, and her favorite part was the roasted pineapple with cinnamon.
Saludos a todos en la comunidad de Lifestyle. El día de hoy me uno por aquí para compartir con ustedes un nuevo día en mi vida. En esta ocasión les quiero contar sobre este encuentro y compartir que tuvimos hoy domingo junto a mi mamá, mi persona y un amigo de la familia que es prácticamente un hijo más. Que confieso que a veces siento hasta celos de tan consentido que lo tiene jajaja. Solo bromeo, pero sí, es alguien bastante cercano y el punto es que durante cada cumpleaños de mi mamá, él intenta festejar es día. Aquí hacían falta mi padrastro y mi hermana, pero mi padrastro no se sentía muy bien y mi hermana claramente no puede. Así que hoy visité por primera vez este lugar que está en Naguanagua, subiendo por la redoma de Guaparo y se llama “La Parrilla del Este”.
Yo tengo ya muchos años que no sé nada de Valencia, aunque estoy segura de que este restaurante es longevo. Yo no lo conocía porque no son los tipos de lugares a los que voy, pero es bueno conocer. El restaurante funciona tipo buffet y también como la farofa brasileña donde van directamente a tu mesa para ofrecerte todos los cortes de carne que tú quieras. Yo no me encontraba particularmente con hambre, así que me serví algo pequeño para didsfrutar de algunas piezas de carne. Jhonny siempre ha tenido buen apetito y de paso, gusta mucho de la comida Venezolana aunque él es de china. Digamos que prefiere una buena carne y una cachapa, a algunos platos típicos de su país. Eso siempre me sorprende porque a mí me gusta mucho la comida asiática. En fin, la cosa es que mi mamá comió también a gusto y su parte favorita fue: la piña asada con canela.
Everything was really good. Although, I’ll say it again, it’s not exactly a place I’d go to all the time. I think it’s a stark contrast to see that the place was pretty crowded, and then when I left, there was still no electricity at my mom’s house—and that many households are like that constantly, day in and day out, hour by hour. It doesn’t really have anything to do with today’s post, but well, I’ve always been very observant, and it makes me a little indignant to notice all these things in my country. Todo estaba realmente bueno. Aunque vuelvo e insisto, no es precisamente un lugar al que yo iría de forma regular. Dicho sea de paso que esto no es la realidad de todos los venezolanos. Y lo digo porque posiblemente muchos hivers se encuentren leyendo esta publicación desde distintas partes del mundo y se sientan confundidos sobre lo que conocen de Venezuela y lo que leen aquí. Esto es una ocasión especial y no la realidad absoluta. Creo que es un contraste bien grande ver la abundancia y derroche en el restaurante y al salir de allí y llegar a casa, encontrar que no había electricidad. Y muchos más hogares que se encuentran así constantemente, diariamente, hora a hora. No tiene realmente una relación con el momento de compartir de hoy, pero bueno, siempre he sido muy observadora y me causa un poco de indignación notar todas estas cosas en mi país.
